My ex-wife owes me $26,000+ in back child support...

Hello,

Ive had custody of my son for almost 10 years.

My ex-wife was in a bad place at the time I received custody, so I let the child support issue go.

He will be entering college in a few years, and I feel like it's time for her to contribute something..

I spoke to the AG's office in Texas, who stated that she is currently unemployed (with no employment record this entire time). She has never filed a tax return, and has no bank assets.

However, she has remarried and jointly owns a condo and a very nice sports car with her new husband.

Does anyone have similar experience with a scenario like this??

Can the property be seized to resolve the arrears, or am I basically SoL?

Before I had custody, I was laid off at one point and the state came after me with a vengeance for being $500.00 behind (Warrants issued, and DL revoked), until I got current.

It's appalling that a double standard like this can exist.

$26,000!!!!!!


Anyway, any thought's or insight would be greatly appreciated.
