3.7 Earthquake in Eastern Texas near the Louisiana border

Wonder how far that could be felt / what the ground is like there.

I've never seen an earthquake over in Eastern Texas before.

i live within a 100 miles from there and there is a shit ton of fracking in the area. For what its worth. Hopefully thats all it was.

there was a 4.3 in wyoming too

It probably is from the fracking. Personally, fracking should be outlawed.

There's a seismograph at Steven F. Austin in Nacodoches. It used to have a weird background pattern if someone can find it.

on a side note check out the disese outbreaks on the global map. Lots of Dengia fever swimmin around out there. Giving me the hebee jebees

Small Earthquakes are starting to get more common here in east and central TX.. Lots of fracking going on.

I went to college at Stephen F. Austin in Nacodgoches TX.
An earthquake in East TX doesn't sound right.

We're about 70 miles north of the epicenter which was near Timson, didn't feel anything.

Fracking? FFS there *is* a tensional structural system/fault that is rather CLOSE to where this happened...

I'm suggesting that denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

It is NOT common for East Texas.

There have been some minor EQs around the DFW metro in the past year, due to fracking from the huge amount of gas drilling and/or increased activity within the Balcones Fault Line.

As for East Texas, I don't know how much fracking might be in play over there, but I would consider any seismic activity to be a concern due to New Madrid, which should be considered one of the most important topics to Americans. TPTB would benefit immensely from the opening of that waterway and the (literal) division of the geographic United States.

Anyone who denies the legitimacy of the effects of fracking is either not paying attention or just ignorant of the issue.

You really need to educate yourself about the process of fracking and HOW it can cause EARTHQUAKES.

Consult a map for the location of extent of boundaries for NM and where this EQ occurred.

.I think the media has been purposefully ushering the term "fracking" into usage because it seems like a harsher, evil word. I'd never vote for Fracking, with a capital F.
