Oldest Mayan calendar found at Xultun

Archaeologists working at the Xultun ruins of the Mayan civilisation have reported striking finds, including the oldest-known Mayan astronomical tables.

A high-resolution photographic tour of the room.

Thought i'd share this. Might bring new light to the already heavily debated Mayan Calender.

A quote from the article itself.

"The Xultun find is the first place that all of the cycles have been found tied mathematically together in one place, representing a calendar that stretches more than 7,000 years into the future."

"We keep looking for endings. The Maya were looking for a guarantee that nothing would change. It's an entirely different mindset."

For 1000 year old paintings on mud walls, they surely are clean, colorful, distinct and fresh looking--perhaps way too fresh looking.
In his book, "Between Two Ages," Brzezinski wrote: "The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values."

William Saturno, the excavation's team leader's journal goes into a little more depth.

I assume the reason it looks so fresh is down to the cleaning out of the cave before hand. But that still doesn't fully match my expectations of a 1000 years worth of weathering, you're right. But i've never witnessed an archaeological dig before, so i just have no idea.

That and in the 70's the Xultún area was looted so the majority of objects i believe were all taken, leaving just the paintings and such, giving me the impression it was stripped bare.

Interesting article Shabby... Thanks....

I believe that events/time are cyclical and that we may experience an end of life (as we know it), but then a new one will just begin.

For 1000 year old paintings on mud walls, they surely are clean, colorful, distinct and fresh looking--perhaps way too fresh looking.

Dr Saturno, who is now based at Boston University, explained that despite it being under just a metre of soil today, that served to preserve the site after more than a millennium of rainy seasons, insect traffic and encroaching plant and tree roots.

So this article does not say yes or no to a 12-21-12 senario just that time continues to move forward. There is no specification as to who will be here if any after the 21st.

another thing is isn't it a bit odd that the closer we get to 12-21 the more the media finds to disprove it?

How do we know this new chamber says what we are told it says?

Read this post if you havent already Thread: BREAKING! OMG!Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond ..DOCUMENTARY IS STOLEN!

seiko43 I can entirely see your point, it's a lot like how UFO designs from the 1950's and onward seem to become more "stylish" or modern looking.

And i follow that thread, it's good stuff. Thanks for you're alternative view on this.

And if any those sites actually had any predicted/confirmation of doom, it would make my little thread a LOT more interesting chuckle

Perhaps a future scientist excavates a teenagers room and finds preserved posters and a collection of CDs. I'm sure their findings will stun them. They will think we were a satantic like cult race that glorified music with heavy dissonance and screaming. Also remarking that we worshiped a plant with 7 leaves.

It's all perspective.

It's really surprising, i've never noticed people to take a pinned threads contents and use it for.. What ever it is their using it for. I don't mind though, just wish they'd use ALL of the links and not just one.

More Info on another Site, stating that this "Is" proof that 2012 is not the end of the world.

[link to www.livescience.com]

"The Mayan calendar is going to keep going for billions, trillions, octillions of years into the future," said archaeologist David Stuart of the University of Texas, who worked to decipher the glyphs. "Numbers we can't even wrap our heads around."

Make me wonder if a 3rd party approached that producer and promised to wire an undisclosed sum of money if she took all of the work & materials and fled with them. Somebody doesn't want this information to get out. It would spark a shift in consciousness that is very detrimental to the 'status quo' that we find ourselves with today - circumstances that only benefit the few and harm the most.

seiko it's important to understand that the 'media' we are exposed to has very little concern for identifying 'truths' in our world. These media operations are powerful corporations who seek to be profitable, not truthful. The reason you are seeing an uptick in articles about this subject matter is because they are looking to cash in on the publicity and popularity of this theme - they are looking for hits, ad revenue, etc. It all comes back to money. They really don't care if the information they disperse is factual or not, just as long as somebody views it.

Could be a way to completely turn people away from the 2012 Maya predictions, as now people are becoming far more aware.
But i am just not sure, i only recently got into the nitty gritty of all this.

Well she ran with the 'footage' but she couldn't steal the artifacts and codices that prove the case for Mayan UFO contact. That still remains. I would want to hope that the other main producer(s) will still find a way to disseminate the information in one way or another. They really wanted to time it for this year - not to scare anyone of course, but to quell a lot of fears that many were buying into.

I hope it still comes out even if we have to wait longer than expected. I am hoping that what this woman did was a crime and that she'll be tracked down and the documents or footage located. If she destroys the information then we most certainly know that a 3rd party provoked her to do so (likely with $$$)

I still expect a small does of Hysteria when that date closes in. It's near enough common knowledge now, a few will be convinced they can have a few lawless acts before the end.

IF there is one that shows itself as clear as day.
Or they watch a brand new fear inducing documentary a month before..
