( not sure that is the right word) to strike I think this strikes the wrong note with most people in the UK. The MASSIVE pensions that the police and fire brigade receive CURRENTLY get in the UK are WAY over the usual. Sorry but most police and fire brigade retirees DONT retire. They go on to another career and build another pension. I think they are going to get a really BAD wake up call. Yes we appreciate their service BUT the ordinary joe in the street is fed up of rewarding them, seeing them join ANOTHER club, RETIRING them and paying them AGAIN. This may be disloyal BUT. I had an uncle who was in the police, (retired under pension) He joined the health service as an advisor (retired due to age) another pension.Joined the local health service as an advisor (another pension) He may be my uncle but i feel i have paid into his pension 3 times running MY BIG GROUSE !!!!! Just to be fair LOL I retired through ill health, I have my pension of £9.600 a year. THATS IT. Sorry but they take their career choice why should i have to pay for their holidays abroad. |
