The problem I see is this. Suppose in fear of a defeat TPTB take out RP, physically. Of course the idea of liberty is in the air and there are [hundreds of] millions of awakened supporters out there. But how many of them have guts, charisma, reputation, and time to step in his place? How do the people know the next guy is not 'just one of them' again?

The first time I've heard about RP was about ten years ago. Perhaps I've been ignorant since then but only quite recently I figured out that there is the whole scholarship/institution backing him scientifically.
