3 chinook helicopters flying over brooklyn ny right now

we should form a NYC Chapter of GLP

okay just heard a chopper- looked outside again and theres one flying solo headed west towards jersey

On September 21, 2012 at approximately 12:00 - 12:30PM, we saw at first 2 Chinook Helicopters come out of the East and circle over the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park.

After the 3 pass, I noticed that there were 3 helicopters circling. They made 2 more passes and then disappeared towards the Northwest direction.

In Goggling this, we have found that this has been happening since 2008 and usually from August - November.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS ABOUT????

Three just flew over my house here in central NC. Flying northeast, I assume they came from the Charlotte direction. Friday, 10/12/12, 12:45 pm, clear blue skies. I was out by the pool and waved to them as they passed over.



We do have National Guard in Winston-Salem, and I'm near the Greensboro airport, but I've not seen this before.

I'm in SE NC and let me tell you what...from 8am to about 12am (14 hr later) a steady stream of huge helicopters kept going back and forth from the direction of Camp Lejueune to the Wilmington International Airport where there is a National Guard Armory ( I live 1.5 miles from the airport)
They were loud and a minute didn't go by that you didn't hear a helicopter in the air.

We have a lot of military traffic here, but this was ridiculous.

we have seen alot of activity today as well. in upstate sc.

Four hovering around my house right now in Bedford Stuyvesant,Brooklyn

We get them flying in pairs in the distance every now and then. Apparently they carry heavy equipment and stuff. Probably not anything to worry about.

Outskirts of Little Rock - ALL DAY LONG the damn things were going over the house.

So loud is shakes the house.

Noise Pollution - but the question remains -

and they are flying over my house too, in fact they fly back and forth all night, for the past week!

Has anyone found any information on it yet?

Must be the new hipster thing.
