What actually happens to the moon during a solar flare?
Out of curiosity I got to thinking and thought for sure that someone on here could answer.

I had once read an article last year online talking how the moon takes a beating when hit with solar flares and we are just kind of unaware of it. [link to www.geek.com]

So basically the sun is fairly active so what happens on May 20th while during the annual solar eclipse the sun unleashes a huge X flare and the moon gets hit directly?

I imagine the charge up is going to be quite spectacualar...between the moon and the earth...along the lines of energy exchange between material celestial objects goes.

Maybe we'll see some kind of tangible spark between them.
