Many of the mounds and earthworks in Ohio are listed as "address restricted" There is so much more of Ancient America to see than that what the Ohio Historical Society would divulge.
This veil of secrecy has forever been lifted wit directions to about 130 sites.

I've been to serpent mound, very beautiful location.
Any time I see a round hill, I'll think twice now after looking at the pics from the link.

Would it be legal to do excavation work at those mounds?

No it is illegal to dig unless you are an archaeologists then you can destroy Ancient America. After destroying 1000s of burial mounds archaeologists dont know who the mound builders were, where they came from nor where they went. Yet, there are deemed the experts
