Now $1.05 is one dollar more than $0.05. Because if you have five cents and I give you a dollar you have a dollar and five cents. $1.05. It is also true that 1.05+.05= 1.10. So both conditions are met if the ball costs 0.05. ******************************** Suppose the ball costs .10 Then according to the conditions, the bat costs 1.10, because 1+.1 = 1.10 (because that bat costs a dollar more) But a ten cent ball together with a ball costing one dollar and ten cents costs 1.20 |

The TOTAL is supposed to be $1.10. Thus there is no freaking way the ball can be $.10 with the bat a dollar more and the total coming out to $1.10. |
