Someone Was Looking In My Computer Last Night...
You know how when your computer has a virus, you can give technicians the computer's ID number, giving them access into your computer? If you're never seen this happen, you will see the mouse move around. They are able to see your computer on their screen.

This happened to me last night, but I defintely did not give anyone my ID number, or permission to access my computer. It happend last night around 9 or 10 PM. My husband and I had gone somewhere, and my mom was staying with our 3 year old daughter. Mom had our daughter in the rocking chair, and she was going to sleep. My laptop was in the chair next to it. She saw a light come on, and looked over. Someone had entered into my laptop. She couldn't get up to take a closer look because of the baby, but she said they were switching from one screen to the other really fast. After a few minutes, they turned the computer off.

Although we had a ghost in our house a while back, I really don't think I can blame this on that. I think it was someone hacking into my computer.

Has this ever happened to any of you? I wondered if maybe it's because of GLP. Maybe someone doesn't like what we're talking about on here.

You're the 3rd person that I have heard this happen to. One lady was telling me about it when I saw her cursor move all over her screen - without her touching anything - and stuff start to be clicked. She turned it off. I told her to do what I did when I thought I was getting hacked - buy a MAC.

Thanks for sharing. Were the other people this happened to GLPers also? Or were they conspiracy theorists of any kind? That would explain alot.

OP...when you see that happening you MUST unplug you laptop immediately.
I caught someone using a bot doing the EXACT same thing on a business server network....they had FULL admin rights on the server.
I yanked the RJ45 right out of the half assed firewall the company was using....faster than you can say WHAT THE FOOK!
...saved their asses for sure.

I had clicking sounds while surfing GLP a while back. I mentioned it in a thread and it stopped. Haven't heard clicking since.

Maybe it's on mute now and still doing something.

Both are very hackable and you won't see anything....or usually even hear anything.

Also, the Flash based SUPERCOOKIES are extremely dangerous.
No virus scanner, as of yet, can scan them.
I don't let Java or Flash run on my PC unless I decide to allow them to run.

Doubtful it's GLP related.
Someone has admin rights on your PC....usually obtained by using a bot (virus, malware) of some type....could have been a keyboard logger as well.
Many ways these are placed on PC's....and MACS.

Things to do if you are non-technical .......

1) Run a couple malware / virus scanners. See what comes up.
2) Make sure Windows native REMOTE ACCESS / ASSISTANCE is turned off on your PC.
3) Change all your online passwords from ANOTHER non-infected PC.

4) TAKE YOUR LAPTOP to a TECH PRO and have it cleaned.
If it were me I'd wipe it clean and reload the O/S from scratch.

Nuke it from space....it's the only way to be sure.

Oh, and remember to purge all the quarantined files before you reboot, so say "no" to rebooting, purge the backup quarantine, then reboot, otherwise they can hide and try to re-launch.

When you no longer care if you are doing something that god dosen't approve of, then it won't matter WHO looks at you.

Ask yourself: what do I have to hide? This "something" looking is the god-program of your childhood programing...Ask, why do I fear an exposure? Aren't you trying to break free of the program?

That reply, in itself, will reveal to you what is standing like an impassable mountain range from where you imagine where you should be and where you are at this moment...moment.

Of course, if those who are doing this are high enough up, they could get around any precautions you might take.

One good practice might be to just shut down your computer when you leave home or go to bed.

Also, get a good firewall software and keep the security level high.

Yes a MAC can get that stuff too but i never had a problem with mine and others around 7 or 8 years old and ocasionaly run a check and find nothing. Window based PC's on the other hand...not so easy to maintain my friends. But if its all you got or know how to use than its something you have to learn to live with i guess.

I'm less interested in you having been hacked and more interested in the fact you think You Had a Ghost in your House?

If I remember Correctly your Avatar is a Christian Avatar Yes and The Bible Teaches The Dead Know Not anything in Ecclesiastes 9:5 (written by Solomon) as well as many other places in the Bible (Psalms 146:4, Daniel 12:2 etc)

(The Holy Spirit/Ghost doesn't count as a Spook/Ghost entity as its part of the God-head and Not a spirit which causes mischief in peoples Homes)

So if you truly believe you where visited by something, then that only leaves The Occult which is Satan's Domain.......

OP Ive just read your post and none of the replies.

When I was younger I used to mess about in the FXP scene, some here might be aware of what it is. Anyway, an older NT exploit allowed use of dameware's mini remote to do exactly what your mum experienced.

Myself and friends used to have a good giggle messing around with folk in this manner. Immature I know, but as I said I was a lot younger lol.

Anyway dont freak, it may just be some script kiddie having some fun and growin his e-peen.

As a rule, I use the following FREE software to monitor my PC's (Some are servers literally in a closet):

[link to www.teamviewer.com]

I point this out, because there are versions for

O Windows
O Mac
O Linux

And you can install a program on these PC's, such that as long as said PCs are connected to the internet, the person with the correct 9 digit Computer ID and password can access the computer from any other computer in the internet, as if they were standing in front of it.

It functions extremely well as a remote support program, but in the wrong hands, someone else could access your PC from anywhere.
