We lucked out with that storm Rita big time ...it could have it the major oil producing area in Houston and we all lucked out big time by the grace of God. And these people here just mock the whole heating bill thing...they mock the worst case scenario ....Arrogance ...pure arrogance. Pure mocking. They do not appreciate what they ducked. Keep using that arrogance and you wont luck out forever. Disrespectful thats what it is. You should be thanking your lucky stars. Instead they have contempt....LOL>..incredible. |

Geez, Dr. Who do you think is mocking here? Nearly all of the replies are from people who DO have those huge heating bills. Did we luck out too? Worst case scenario? How´s this: if those oil company execs had not been brought before the congressional review board, gasoline prices would still be at $3.00/gal. You know and I know it. Only the fact that they were called on the price gouging made them drop the prices again. During the price hike these oil companies showed record profits. RECORD PROFITS. They lost nothing. But we still paid. Natural gas and home heating: subsidiaries of these same oil companies that showed such huge record profits will be charging 50% more for gas this year. I suppose I should be "thanking my lucky stars" for that as well. All I have is contempt, huh? You sure got that right. |

Safe: The Econo-Heat electric heater has no exposed heating elements and has a safe surface temperature that will not burn the skin or other materials. Slim: The Econo-Heat electric heater is a slim, discreet and stylish panel measuring 24inches x 24inches with an overall depth of 1 inch. What happened to Katrina winter no fuel disaster predictions? Ok maybe i overreacted to this line.... "Car gas is lower than it was last spring now. So what happened to all the horror predictions? Will they still come or did Bush or someone pull something off till we are safe for the fuel for winter?" ---but if we make it through this winter with reasonable gasoline prices and heating oil prices then we were surely lucky. Nature can do A LOT worse to us than she did ...that is for sure. Its just hard to tell sometimes who is being sarcastic and who isnt ....i apologize to those who were being serious |

What happened to Katrina winter no fuel disaster predictions? This is an interesting subject--a fiend of mine just built a house==and only filled --his oil tank--1/4 full--with the rest of the oil money -he and a friend of his bought these "infra red" heaters out of Canada---it looks like a console --has 4 of those bulbs--the kind that restaurants use to keep food warm and 2 little fans inside--it is costing @3-4 cents a KW WITH THIS-as opposed to 7/8ct with the other-He heats the house up to 60-65 with his oil burner turns it off and uses the "infra red" . i did not ask him what they cost but he said they would more than pay for themselves in one winter--The replacement for a bulb is $24 bucks---it produces a real dry heat and the fans disperse it real well. |
