Re: The Hidden Dangers of Caffeine:How Coffee Causes Exhaustion Fatigue and Addiction
I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I´m a severe caffine junky, drinking several cups of coffee in the morning and iced tea throughout the day. I´ve been going to the doctor for a couple years trying to figure out why I´m so tired, suffer from alot of all over aches and pains, severe anxiety/panic attacks in the evenings and mood swings. Doctors ask alot of questions and want to know if you smoke, take drugs or drink alcohol, but not one has asked me how much caffine I consume. I´m also overweight and haven´t been able to tackle it because of the fatigue and pain. My life is pretty crappy right now from all this. I´m going to wean myself off the coffee and tea and see what happens. Again, thank you because this could be the key to me getting my life back :-)

Smoking, coffee, and "cause and effect" are for weak people.

If you smoke or drink coffee, you are 100% an average person that does nothing more to this planet than to leave your genes into some dumb bitch and then turn to dust to restart the cycle.

You are DNA MAINTENANCE.

But you are a SEMI-CONSCIOUS being and DNA IS REPROGRAMMABLE.

You can change IT ALL.

12613,
Drinking Coffee and smoking cigarettes cause no red-blooded life form to be slaughtered in order that they can be consumed....

Eating red meat and contributing to the vast animal suffering and environmental pollution that accompanies that carnivore culture is far more damaging to the Planet than coffee and cigarettes ever could be..
Just curious, do you eat meat..?

I don´t care about "this makes A" and "this makes B". Everything is interconnected, and people that smoke and drink coffee are inserted in a low-level context and the jump to eat meat and kill animals in cold blood is minimal.

I still eat meat, but only chicken or fish. Although I ask for the being that once had the meat part, to forgive me, before eating it.

It´s very hard not to eat meat in big city you know but I´m conscious enough to still eat meat and get away from its dangerous effects. If any.

But ideally speaking, I would like to stay away from meat, ever.

You answered the question then by not answering it...
People who are indirectly responsible for the sufering and slaughter of innocent animals by supporting the beef industry are hardly in a position to cast dispersions on Coffee drinkers..

Edit--> Ooops, just saw your latest post...
Anyhow, I don´t think that the act of judging another for their dietary preferences serves to raise the PLanet´s Consciousness either...

No.

People that valorize a 100% choice of not eating meat in a world where you have an extreme high number of details to think of, are stupid. See, I don´t care eating meat sometimes (almost no-times) if the minimum income of energy I might get is redirected for fighting animal freedom in the future.

the point is, you seem like a high-level person and the fact that i still eat chicken-fish meat, but wouldnt eat it in an idealistic world, makes me as sane as you are.

I´m a pretty avid coffee drinker, and for more than a very long time now too, lol. I ain´t at all overweight (5´ 9 1/2" - 150lbs), and I have never but never had/have any adverse affect from coffee a´tall. I may have like 3 or 4 cups at night and go right to bed and to sleep (and okay okay, I may pee a bit more during the night, lol). I´ve always had loads of energy (thanks to me lucky stars that they didn´t have ritalin when I was a kid, lol), and I´ve never noticed any more or any less of a strain on me energy levels either.

Course now too, I also have never been, nor am I, much of a sugar freak as well. And also... I´ve always but always eaten 3 squares a day, and I´m talking like ´everything cooked/prepared from scratch´ 3 squares a day here, I am I am.

Hey 12613, You came across like you´re really angry even though what you say has so much evidence that the human CAN re program their DNA.

And, I think because you know about all this and then look at humanity---how terribly apathetic it is toward gainful change; it makes you get disgusted with people.

I´ve been there done that too. It must be part of growing pains. One of the cures for me of late has shown up right here on GLP and please allow me to pass it along to you at this time.

Re: The Hidden Dangers of Caffeine:How Coffee Causes Exhaustion Fatigue and Addiction
My experience with drinking coffee is about the same as everyone else here. But, the worst part about it all is Getting OFF the stuff. I´ve done it many times. That is, drink coffee, then get off, then go back and then quit again, and then drink and then not drink.

The worst part is that each time that I got off, the first time being the worst, I felt like I was run over by a truck or that I was beat up pretty badly. I mean talk about pains. The withdrawal from drinking heavy coffe was terrible.

Right now I got a handle on it and don´t drink coffee, and I stopped about 3 weeks ago.

Re: The Hidden Dangers of Caffeine:How Coffee Causes Exhaustion Fatigue and Addiction
Back in the old days, hyperactive children were often prescribed a cup of coffee. For many it calmed them down; now we have all those poisonous brews such as Ritalin to do the job. Btw, a bottle of coca cola did not work, so the calming affect with coffee had to do with its complex blend of extractives of which caffeine is just a part of.

In my case, I drink two cups in the morning heavily laced with crème and sugar. It is more of a dessert for me, and for some odd reason I get a tad bit sleepy for about an hour; and as a youth I was never viewed as being hyperactive. As to my spouse and friends, they get the typical reaction, a slight buzz. As to being without coffee, sure after two days I get a slight headache and then it is over. However, giving up coffee is not in my plans…it tastes too good.

The moral of the story is that coffee affects us all differently.

Ps during my Navy days when all we had to drink at sea was “sock tea” it took perhaps 10-15 cups before I would switch from the calmed and mellowed phase to the buzzed out phase…go figure, eh!

Scientists link coffee to stillbirth

Email Print Normal font Large font By Amy Lawson
November 20, 2005

Pregnant women who drink more than three cups of coffee a day are at a significantly higher risk of miscarriage or stillbirth, a study warns.

A survey of almost 90,000 women in Denmark found that those who drank four to seven cups of coffee a day during pregnancy had a 33 per cent increased risk of foetal death, and those who drank eight or more cups had a 59 per cent increased risk.

Dr Debra Kennedy, director of the MotherSafe advice centre at Sydney´s Royal Hospital for Women, said moderation was the key.

"We normally say up to three cups a day is absolutely fine," she said.

"But it´s not great health-wise anyway to have eight cups of coffee a day, let alone if you´re pregnant."

The study adjusted for other factors such as alcohol consumption and smoking.

After adjusting for these factors, the study found that those who drank half to three cups of coffee a day had a 3 per cent increased risk of foetal death than those who drank no coffee.

I love coffee. I mean, REALLY love it. French press, frothed creme, and a tsp sugar. However, I only have it one day a week, and a small cup at that. It´s even more delicious knowing I can´t have much. I don´t like the idea of addiction, and I am always improving diet and quality of health. Coffee, however, is too wonderful to totally give up.

Hi Wildman Sanger, perhaps it was all that sugar in your coffee that makes you drowsy?

I drink coffee black, and the difference between brands is very noticeable. The more expensive, the more smooth.

Coffee Perks Up Short-Term Memory
By Janice Billingsley
HealthDay Reporter

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 30 (HealthDay News) -- Those morning cups of java might sharpen your memory so you can better tackle the tasks of the day, a new Austrian study suggests.

Scientists at the Innsbruck Medical University discovered that 100 milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of two cups of coffee, increased activity in the part of the brain that is responsible for short-term memory, and improved performance on a test that measures memory function.

"We found modulation of a distinct brain area within the working memory network was more activated under caffeine compared to the placebo condition. This is the specific brain region which would be used for short-term memory function," said study author Dr. Florian Koppelstatter, a radiology fellow at the university.

These functions include being able to prioritize information to manage tasks efficiently, as well as plan new tasks and deal with stored information, he said. An example would be the process of looking up a number in a telephone book, and remembering it so you could dial the number.

Koppelstatter was to present the findings Wednesday at the Radiological Society of North America´s annual meeting, in Chicago.

Caffeine, found in coffee, tea, soft drinks and chocolate, is the most widely used stimulant in the world, with a global, per-person average of 76 milligrams a day. Americans consume an average of 238 milligrams of caffeine daily, which is the equivalent of four-and-a-half cups of coffee. Scandinavians [Finns rank #1] have the highest daily caffeine intake -- 400 milligrams daily, Koppelstatter said.

Re: The Hidden Dangers of Caffeine:How Coffee Causes Exhaustion Fatigue and Addiction
coffee energizes many systems but with continued use of coffee with no breaks you will eventually wear down many vital systems.

Coffee is indeed the secret to obesity. Well caffeine but mainly coffee is the culprit.

Coffee at first will energize your adrenal glands and your bileduct. Your energy levels will be heightened and your elimination system will be powerful as your colon will always be easily emptied with just a solid cup of coffee...But the tides turn. What once worked in your favor has now burnt up 2 vital systems. These 2 vital systems together produce rapid fat/weight gain when the system is put in place. The system of adrenal fatigue and bileduct fatigue with the ongoing daily addiction to caffeine.

Your adrenal glands become fried. Unable to produce adequate amounts of adrenaline. In place o adrenaline, your body compensates by producing cortisol in higher amounts. Cortisol of course we all know, is the mechanism your body produces when the body is being heavily stressed. Cortisol is sort of the alarm system signaling the body for change. Cortisol chews muscle tissue up and slowly the metabolism, cortisol is the trigger that tells the body that it is time to hoard bodyfat. Since the metabolism is slowed down the body needs to derive energy from somewhere so it looks to leach off of amino acids for fuel. This is the loser's metabolism. The sluggish ones....

The bileduct was enriched by the coffee at first. But the coffee abused the bileduct until the bileduct stopped producing adequate amounts of bile. This puts a major strain on the liver showing bags under your eyes. Bile is what moves your feces. The body hoards feces in the colon when the body doesn't produce proper amounts of bile. Constipation eventually becomes the vice of the daily coffee drinker. Extreme constipation is the next step.

Coffee eventually fatigues 2 vital systems of bodyfat maintenance. One will need to restrengthen their vital systems to get back to proper living. There's nothing wrong with drinking coffee, but there is something wrong with a daily addiction. Ginseng is the adaptogen that repairs fatigued glands. or rapid repair of your glandular system you will need to use adaptogens.
