Last time Syriza had twice the votes in Athens and this time polls saying the spread might be even bigger. ND had a clear lead in the countryside where things are not bad. Life is cheaper and the quality of life is far better. In the big cities like Athens, Thessaloniki and Patra Syriza wins by a very large margin because life there has become unbearable. No chance in hell that ND will win in Athens. |

Had two friends working in the last elections. They were counting votes one by one. My best mate spent something like 18 hours in there. Every party has a representative in the counting of the votes in all of the voting stations and they are there monitoring the counting of the votes so this is not very likely. If some representative objects they start the counting all over again one by one. Only fraud that they have committed is nationalizing and giving visas to immigrants. PASOK famously does that in the last 5 years and did it in the last elections too. |

In a last breath of life, Eleftherotypia, the second largest Greek daily returns newsstands today, after having been closed on last December 22, leaving about 800 employees with unpaid wages since August 2011. "This is a final special edition for everyone to know that we are still here at this crucial moment in our history," explains Yannis Triadis, a columnist with the newspaper. One issue to try to attract capital, showing the vitality of the project and the despair of the journalists to continue. It is a typical story of Greece today, loaded with symbolism for the moment that the country is experiencing. "For years, there have been a large number of management errors in the newspaper. Everyone knew what was happening and nobody did anything to solve it, "says a Triadis, without realizing what could be speaking of his own country. "One day the newspaper died," he says. Greece goes to the polls Sunday in a dizzy maze of stories of mismanagement (in Athens but also crisis management in Europe), that everyone seemed to know, but in the middle of a road cushioned European integration helped, nobody did anything. The journalists could not pick and were surprised by the closure, but tomorrow the Greeks increasingly on their own, will have to decide. Or follow the rocky path of adjustment and uncertain, thus ensuring the promise of international funding at the expense of great pain, a wound open social combing two years ago that has not stopped bleeding. Or follow another path also uncertain, self-determination in relation to its creditors, risking losing external funding and eventually killed by the European family. The newspaper was abandoned by lenders for almost a year. And journalists, most of which is identified with the center left, decided at a meeting of about 120 writers, go to this special issue by appointing a committee of self-management to conduct the work. Yesterday, Triadis and colleagues gesticulated and shouted, avid editing frenzy that had not for many months. The first page ran by all, with heated discussions around each word, upon the ears of the pager and the mix too many cigarettes. All this in a huge building for a newspaper, perhaps greater than the Agency Luso in Lisbon, where he once worked about 800 employees, including editing, production and printing. The team of editors met again, occupying offices empty, abandoned computers. "Now solution" was the headline chosen. The thinking in the country but also in the newspaper. Personally i thank god if there is one for the internet. We would all fighting wars till this day if this thing wasn't invented. It is our last and only weapon. Lots are not afraid anymore but the elite has made it so hard to escape from the matrix. Their teachings are so hard implemented to us that is either their way or eternal starvation and damnation. Sick times we live in, we have industrialized everything from simple things to our feelings. Catatonic consumerism mass hypnosis i call it. Half of the things we buy and work for we hardly need them. Humanity could have done so many things good for this planet, but instead 99% of the people are living in a constant provoked fear. |

The core of a revolution is an "alternative" idea of how a society should look like that opposes the established system and the established elite. I see no such idea anywhere .. and i will not count the "sharia" model of running a society as alternative. No revolution. A decline, a civil war over necessities, .. i can imagine all of that. But a revolution .. won´t happen. |

'splain me, Luis. :) The 400bn is aprrox. Greece's public debt (355,6bn to be exact). The banks will take immediately that loss and depending on Greece's actions after that, they could take a new hit of about 200-250bn which is the private debt that Greek citizens and business have. The thing is though that if JPM planned that i bet it will be messy. Holy shit. So this "global" hedge fund JPM is losing money from was linked to the Greek debt crisis? Oh man! How st00pid are these people? Their casino games are hurting real people that don't deserve and of this crap. What the hell is an American financial planner doing buying up and then betting on another country's ability to pay her debt or the chance of another country coming to its rescue? This makes no sense to me. Zero. It's criminal! It's unnecessary and does nothing to benefit humanity in any way shape or form. This is ludicrous. you think like..... Human:) humans still live in this world:) they dont losing money they losing toilet paper (with interests and profits in toilet paper ofcourse) but for what? to take real wealth from greece..giant deposits of oil (probably the bigger dep's on this planet), natural gas, lot of wind, best sun (365 days a year), for free eco energy, many metals incuding aluninum, gold, let out the best quality of food and fruits (when production is boosted again after the production disaster the EU have bring to greek economy slow by slow from 1979) EU policies in greece from 1979 was take money and destroy your production in everything so greece became depentant in the money from EU (remember greece is a establishing member of EU from the start of the idea) and losing sovereignty litle by litle. EU has give to greece easy money for 10 years (average greek people have not see this money, its the corrupt politicians who have steal this money and the bankers) and now is ready to take the real wealth of greece. These ungratefull germans forget that greece had give them the first orders, after wwii, of supertankers production (by Onassis) and their first submarines for greek navy starting their war ships production after wwii, (let out the other weapons) when no one was even looking at them (let out to give orders. If they push it, there is only one option for greeks... Spit out eu and bring Russia inside for the reborn of the new Byzantine Empire including all orthodox people together. (Russia is ready for it, waiting). Ofcourse, this is near wwiii Is that what you wanted? (eu politicians prigs). Well,. you are very near to take it. Lot of greeks think more and more day by day the russian solution, as the only solution (including chinas support in industrial production). |
