Off topic but can some people that live in Greece provide some info on who EPAM is?

From the 'Laiko' perspective...
 Quoting: Anonymous 33714435

Epam is the party of Kazakis, a quite good economist-analyst who has worked abroad and has many times proven right with his forecasts regarding Greek economy and matters, he was a communist when his was young but he had problems with their ideology and decided to go his own way with epam.

It is a populist movement with lots of lefty and a revolutionary ideology, pro-drachma and anti-bailout, although what makes them a bit different than the other typical left or far left parties in Greece is that they're not anti-Greek and have a national consciousness on Greek foreign policy and national matters, in their own words both the far-right and far-left, both the atheists and Christians can coexist in EPAM, dunno if this is the case indeed coz the party is not that popular yet. They also organize lots of solidarity events for their respective communities.

Imo they lack 1-2 political names other than Kazakis to make it in the parliament, in the last elections these various small parties that didn't got in the parliament got a record 18%, which is further proof of how fractured the Greek society really is the last years in political terms. I expected more from EPAM in the last elections, they messed up and lost steam somewhere in the middle of the pre-election period due to cooperation with other weird small unknown parties.

Got ya...

Thing for me though is this comment "Imo they lack 1-2 political names other than Kazakis"

Dont you feel that this is exatly what is needed now? i.e. people from the "Laiko" in the parliament that get rid of the legal fiction and do things for the country and its people?

Not a parliamentary Democracy (so called Nobility) which we have today, which is backed by Special Interests, The Elite, Money, power brokers, rather just Democracy as it should be, just like the Greeks intended it to be by the people for the people... heck Ekklisia means just that "the people"...

The ancient Greeks allowed infiltration by the so called Nobility (Pharises) and got ruined. In fact once this so called Nobility (Pharises) discover a prosperous people they move in and enslave them.

Alexander the Great took this scum on and headed to the middle east to cleanse this world from this Babylonian scum but his generals succumbed to Gold/power etc etc.

Also what about koinonia? Excuse the questions just want to get the Laiko perspective on things, as most of the presstitution is a candy filled with death... looks good for a split second then kills you.

Nice post. hf

You're right about the 1-2 political names, it beats the laiko kinima, this is not what EPAM is supposed to be, it is supposed to be all of us. I think when shtf and Greek society finally wakes up, his party will become more popular, but one of the reasons that EPAM didn't do well in elections is that the people know only Kazakis, they're not getting any MSM help either, he's pretty much the only one who his political speech has a drive and value.

Kazakis was supposed to cooperate with Kamenos of Independent Greeks party but it didn't work out in the end, in hindsight this would have been a good move, as Kamenos party is now facing some problems too. I really hope epam will do well, but they've lost steam as i already told ya, who knows i may even vote for them, although i admit that if i had to vote at this moment i would be totally lost, seems there is no easy fix/solution anymore here.

Koinonia is new, they exist for 3 years but they now get a bit more known, not many know much about their members either yet, their views are not that different to EPAM regarding the pause of payments and pro-drachma policy, but they have a more patriotic and Orthodox line, they talk a lot about Romiosini and enjoy a lot of support from church and clerics. We'll see/hear more about them imo, as the role of church is getting more important as the crisis escalates here.

Completely agree with candy filled with death part, it's really hard to fully trust any party or politician in Greece at this moment, the political establishment and the role of the politicians has been totally scorned. Dunno if this is repairable in just a few years, coz it's something that took decades to reach to this low point too.

Yes Greece is in a perilous state... Your current rulers from Chania... My understanding is that your Freemasons have moved their base to Crete Chania... Remember that vodafone ommercial that touted crete as a independant state??? I always wondered about that and starting digging.

Why Crete... Oil/Gas and lots of it...but IMO their plan has been to make Greece destitude then bring their tax free dollars back from Swissland and buy everything...

Now with the Currency/Trade wars going on the swiss are ousting the elite with German help to eventually get Gold to 5000 this will price everyone but the few out of Global Markets... and Greece into the hands of the city of london.

Your issues with Thrace... Lots of uranium in fact more than Australia in terms of quality but mainly the indigenous peoples problems that the elite have here with the land...

I fear tanks on the streets. I wonder if Russia will step in.

Sounds about right imo, lots of propaganda regarding Crete the last 5 years, lots of disinfo too with some and fortunately not many people spreading obvious fake rumors that the deal with Crete ended and Crete will have to go now, lol, which obvious can't happen as this is not the way treaties work. An interesting bit of info is that the bullet that the Finance Min received in his mail, was signed by a completely unknown group or person called "Cretan Revolution". I haven't yet been convinced that this was an actual event though and not something that the govt staged.

Crete has the biggest estimated oil/natgas deposits in Greek territory, double of the all the other estimated deposits in the whole Greek territory. Thrace is very rich in rare minerals too besides uranium, keep in mind that if these things like the rare earths will ever be exploited in Thrace, the environment will be completely annihilated in a very big area, the world is starving for rare earths minerals with China cutting her exports this year. The neighbors from all sides are getting restless too with their demands. The sellout and the buying of properties with cheap dollars has already started.

I'm ashamed to say that, but if the military coup and tanks are genuine and for the bettering of the country in the end i'd take it honestly, we are already under a banker coup and it's really disgusting, democracy and constitution have been completely abolished and it doesn't look great for the future either. A coup would be a big decision though, alliances would need to be changed and has big chances of leading to a war.

Russia is pissed with Greek govt for their stance on various matters, we backed off with a lot of deals with them under western pressure t last 3-4 years and it's getting even worse. That's the thing now, everyone is pissed with us no matter the camp we are in, we're caught in the middle of a big geopolitical game and resources sharing and we have no power at all to do anything or participate in something.

I hear ya and i have to agree... no need to be ashamed as I have to say I'm of the same thought that the military needs to get this "banker hounda" out.

If you look at the help that was offered by Russia, Greece would of bounced back and be in the rebuilding phase.

Not sure what game Hrisi avgi is playing and who is backing them.

As for Syriza what a prodoti that tsipras is... How about he mentions what his crony father did to the port of Pireus to get his money that dirty mongrel... he is of filthy bourgeoisie playing as a commy

As for samaras he is no different to papandreou in fact they belong to the same cout d' etat, "end game" is the same they just get there using a different road.

Agree, someone needs to restore democracy in this country, a military coup leading to banksters kicking out and then elections would be a decent scenario.

Germany has admitted that Greece would make serious money/growth if Russia/China invest here, but as the east and the west go into cold war mode they don't want us to go there, there is no reason to keep alive a zombie economy that crashed 3 years ago and make serious interest profits either though, a solution based on the population and not the banks and western interests well-being needs to be found.

Agree with what you say about the politicians, they're all in it together and cover each others arses, no convictions still here while the evidence for the manipulation of the crisis is quite clear. GD is TPTB controlled too off course, they're not that provocative like when they started but not much separates them from being a militia nutjob group, Syriza is trying to move more to the center-left than the far left, but lots of their members are clearly reaching far-left, anti-Greek anarchist views. No end in sight i'm afraid.

Although tax revenues were down in January, Greece achieved a budget surplus of 159 million euros, against a target for an 873-million-euro deficit in the first month of 2013.

Meh.. not really, it's a slow gradual process, things just getting a bit more tough for more people, but it won't be long for sure because lots of contracts both in public and private sector are coming to an end soon, that will lead to massive increase in an already crazy-high unemployment rate. I'd be really surprised if things stay as they currently are till the summer.

Well, maybe the time is not very far away

today's news

Seizures in salaries, pensions and bank deposits for debts to the State.

Seizure in salaries, pensions, deposits, rents and other income of 2,500,000 overdue debtors will go directly to the Treasury to collect part of the 56.4 billion euro total deptors owe. ((movable assets like cars and motocycles are already included)

Thus, within the month IRS will send 2.5 million asset seazure notices to 2.3 million borrowers with outstanding debts up to 3,000 euros, 100,000 with debts from 3,000 euros to 300,000 euros, 5,770 with debts from 300,000 to 1,000,000 euros, and finally notices will be sent to 1,500 debtors who owe over 1 million each.

It should be noticed that the majority of debtors (2.3 million citizens) owe the IRS a total of 1.1 billion, while on the other side 6,270 debtors have debts to the State totaling 35 billion euros.

The mandate of Mr. Theoharis to the heads of IRS was clear: First you will send a letter to the debtors of the State to come to settle their debts. In the next stage will send a letter and threat of seizure. In the third stage, and if there has been no response then (exodiko) and final act will be the definitive seizure of salaries, pensions, rents, deposits etc

In fact, the IRS can send seizure notes to the employers, pension funds organizations, banks and tenants without informing the deptors first.

ps. the debt includes income tax, notes for property taxes in the electricity (DEH), traffic fines by the municipal police, road tolls and even cancellation of transport tickets which have been transferred to the IRS.

Re: GREECE SITUATION UPDATES: The death of a 19-year-old Greek student has come to symbolize everything that's wrong with austerity!!!
Financial prosecutors on Tuesday called for a magistrate to conduct an inquiry into whether the head of Greece’s statistical service ELSTAT, Andreas Georgiou, and two of his colleagues artificially inflated the size of the country’s budget deficit in 2009 to justify an EU-IMF bailout and subsequent austerity measures.

The prosecutors reportedly found evidence to support claims by a former employee of ELSTAT, Zoe Georganta, that Georgiou inflated Greece’s deficit for 2009 to over 15 percent of gross domestic product, a figure three times higher than the conservative government’s forecast in 2009.

burnit

Para-state doing it's dirty work on this case already, "unknown" person stole the testimonies of the case from the judicial officer conducting the interrogation after breaking her car and then they broke into the house of the basic witness of the case.

Sucks indeed Pool, but it's not unexpected at all tbh, this is too big of a case to go to court, they're trying stop/delay it for more than 2 years now. Justice and the prosecutors want to merge this with a giant case involving shady 'events' like the Papandreou family selling CDS's, December 2008 riots and assassination plot of the then pm (Pythia project).

The cover-up crime for this case began about a month ago in the parliament where our fellow deputies found ex-pm Papandreou and Venizelos innocent, even syriza for all it's anti-bailout rhetoric voted for them to be acquitted, only ex-finance min. Papakonstantinou was found guilty. They're all in this together, Greek political elite and troika cooperating and covering each others arses.

Credit agencies downgrading one another lmao

Moody's Investors Service has downgraded one of its biggest rivals McGraw Hill, which owns the world's largest rating agency Standard & Poor's, after the US government filed a lawsuit that seeks as much as $5bn (£3.2bn) in damages
