Some of us "white" folks may just overlook/forgive "black" racism because we understand that for at least a couple hundred years, our ancestors *enslaved* their ancestors, which is something that likely has long-term consequences. If I were them, I'd be upset, too. Certainly it doesn't justify senseless gang violence or whatever, but sometimes you gotta cut people some slack due to their upbringing.

Until we begin to learn what it is to be in someone else's shoes, we're probably not going to make much long-term progress.
