Do We Really Want Private Prisons? Louisiana Has Triple the Incarceration Rate of Iran
An exposé by the New Orleans Times-Picayune found that Louisiana incarcerates more people per capita than any other state or country in the world. One out of every 86 adults is behind bars, which is nearly double the U.S. average.

Who said that private industry isn't more efficient and productive than government industry? But does this pass the smell test?

“A majority of Louisiana inmates are housed in for-profit facilities, which must be supplied with a constant influx of human beings or a $182 million industry will go bankrupt.”

“A good portion of Louisiana law enforcement is financed with dollars legally skimmed off the top of prison operations,” Chang reported.

This is a brew for corruption and tyranny.

Their percentage of blacks is almost 3 times the national average. Blacks are a disproportionally high percentage of prisoners. They have a disproportionally high percentage of a race that has a track record of being disproportionally incarcerated.

I don't think there's a big conspiracy here. They tripled the national average of the highest incarcerated group and doubled the national average for prisoners. Why would you expect anything else?

This is because the people of Louisiana are nearly retarded, uncivilized Americans who have had their minds raped and now know nothing about what it means to be human. The Iranians, on the other hand, I think you'll find them to be a calm, peaceful bunch, generally speaking. Its the space-heads in the USA that are the criminals feeding right into the creation of what is now the Prison State. Well done, yanks. Yes...private prisons might get some of you assholes of the street.

To be fair, Iran just kills most prisoners AND doesn't report facts.

I think that has more to do with the fact that most of the people in Louisiana are low class losers (in my experience). It has nothing to do with who operates the prisons.

If the punishment is to chop off the offending part or hang the individual, it does tend to cut down on the number held in incarceration.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Re: Do We Really Want Private Prisons? Louisiana Has Triple the Incarceration Rate of Iran
the problems are 2 fold:

fostering a savage ghetto society

a corrupt prison system.

the answer is on both sides. look at many major cities in the US and they are in ruins, with a criminal element in defacto control, and the american taxpayers supporting the backbone of it with government welfare programs.

Iran is a more homogeneous population.

They have their issues too, check their opium / heroin addiction rates.

Another perk of the west being in afghanistan, they can feed iran's addiction.
