Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16267471 I say everyone in this case is mentally ill to a certain degree: marines, robber, and the "eye for an eye" clinging folks posting here. (More like near-death for an eye). they are programmed this way to do this. They'll go out and hurt other people then say theres no such thing as hurt, only "justice" why is that people think that justice is about going out of your way to actively hurt misguided people just because it feels "good"? that does not makes you any better than them. justice is the art of self-defense. you need to take care to not exert any more force than what was delivered by the attacker. fool, did you not notice the assailant knocked one person down and stabbed another? Perhaps in your favela, that passes for a greating, but in this country people can be killed or permanently injured by being knocked down or stabbed. You dont judge evil by the outcome, but by the intent. The perp, once he INTENTIONALLY used deadly force, should be terminated. That reduces the likelyhood of him doing that more than once. Being terminated does not cure a sick consciousness. It only makes it worse and you could be his or her next victim. Who is going to break the vicious cycle? what are you on about? Terminating a wild demented beast puts it to rest, permanently, and prevents propagation of the bestiality. You are trying to equate evil with retribution, and it cannot be done. The cycle of bestiality is broken when beasts are exterminated, and men of goodwill and respect can trod ground in safety and harmony that is voluntary. That’s not my understanding. Karmic accounts may have been settled, and body put to rest, but the soul takes its tendencies with it. And those tendencies will definitely find expression. |

Actually if you terminate the person committing the crime there is no way possible for you to be the next victim, unless they come back to haunt you. The cycle is broken since the criminal will no longer commit crime. Tracey Attaway, 40, faced the maximum sentence on all assault and theft charges because he is a convicted felon with 30 arrests in his past. The life sentence, delivered by Superior Court Judge Carl Brown, was for armed robbery, coupled with consecutive sentences of 30 years for other charges including aggravated assault. In a tearful plea for mercy, Attaway said he was only a “small-time criminal” who made bad choices. He repeated his assertion that the stabbing was unintentional and that he “truly thought someone on the jury would see things my way.” [link to chronicle.augusta.com] |
