"I think we have concerns about a number of computer network operations and activities that appear to originate from China that affect DOD networks," David Helvey, acting assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia told reporters today. "China’s persistent cyber intrusions indicates the likelihood that Beijing is using cyber network operations (CNOs) as a tool to collect strategic intelligence," Defense Department added in its 2012 report to Congress on Military and Security Developments involving the People's Republic of China. The computers won't boot, the cell phones won't call, the TV stations won't broadcast, and the light switch won't turn the lights on anymore. None of it existed just a few decades ago and now our lives depend on it all working seemlessly. We are so fragile and dependent and yet so arrogantly defiant. Mankind survived just fine for thousands of years without one volt of electricity and now most people don't even have the first clue how to grow their own food or build their own shelters. The world's top predator has become a paper tiger in a self made cage of ignorance. Boy have we got a big wake up call coming some day.
