You must be willing to look at yourself objectively and honestly. One must be "awake" to do this though.

Ego is a construct based suppression of our higher selves expression. Suppression start early in life and creates a separation based on social acceptance of all or our expresssions. a baby moves from one emotional expression to another with out judgement. Once it learns communication it is then taught which forms of expression are acceptable and which are not. The unacceptable expression become repressed and forms a separation called the conscious and subconscious. To acknowledge our unacceptable expressions would mean we are bad people based on our social programming. Maintaining a clear connection with our higher self as a child is a threat to those who seek to allow the ego to dominate their existence. Hence we are forced to deny Self. sk

"Ego" is a concept, it doesn't exist.

In a past life, as a priest in a medieval setting, you were extremely judgmental, you practiced extreme self punishment to the extreme of masochism attempting to eliminate the "evil" within

You crushed any awareness of weakness or frailty within you,

Unfortunately did the same to those around you, who you perceived as weak or frail without

Between lives, you had an opportunity to witness the pain you inflicted, and felt tremendous remorse and guilt...pain you inflicted on others simply because you refused to recognize the duality within

In this life, you have had to experience being powerless, to experience helplessness and remorse.

If there is a mask of evil which some pick up, it is simply the unembraced dark half of your nature..left over from that incarnation where you had power and status and used it without compassion...

Your lesson is to accept that we all have a dark half of our nature. Night and day are both part of God's universe

We must embrace darkness, as it is part of the one mind.

You MUST forgive yourself. Often, between lives, when we have the opportunity to see how we failed or how our actions hurt others, we can punish ourselves for lifetime after lifetime

You are a good soul, an old soul but a conflicted and tormented soul. It is time to put that past life to rest and in integrating and synthesizing the darkness within, you will grow more at peace with the evil you see in the world around you
