in plumbing terms, the knocking you hear is called "water hammer" you can google it...........i wouldnt worry too much about all the other things going on it makes life more interesting.

If I were to act like some nutjob because of them I would deserve to be shot. Now, the person upstairs can hardly hear more than I hear from downstairs. So what do you make of this madness? Ask a friend to go upstairs and listen by the door. Co ordinate an exact time that you will go into the bathroom. Then see if the friend hears activity from the apartment at the same time. You will at least know if it is purposeful. If it is not then we will have to figure out something else. If it is, you will need to figure out how to prove it or move. Isn't it overkill to move because of a thing like this? Ok, it seems very weird to me but whomever doing it isn't really doing anything wrong. I would just like to know what could motivate this kind of behavior?
