O.K. the Beverly hillbilly's, deliverance, all of the exploitation and exaggeration of whites from rural areas is definitely inflammatory and derogatory.
And the portrayal of such characters limits rural whites on their journey to rise above their poor roots.

Oh no this is exploitation of a people by their own people by pushing stereotypes.

Stereotypes create racism and people to develop false beliefs of a group based on the portrayal of traits being blown out of proportion.

In a word this is class warfare driving racist ideas.

The most effective way of spreading racism is through entertainment and most of the time the people don't even realize that racism is being shoved down their throat.
And if they do notice they don;t care because its entertainment. It's sick.

This is what I'm talking about the exploitation of a minority to portray an image for the majority.
Its the same sort of racism that African Americans complained about with servants saying yes sir boss.
Just because their were African Americans who were servants who had learned to humor their boss's doesn't mean it was a good image to portray for African Americans in movies it put the idea in everyone's minds that was what they all were its called a stereo type.

No rednecks are not a special race of people they are the poor class white people and the stereotype of them is harmful to the poor class of white people and to some degree to all white people.

That is the problem breaking its not just rednecks it is white people.
