Years ago, I found adding an egg or two and shredded cheese helped alot!

I've put eggs and frozen peas in mine. Sometimes I put cheese, sometimes I use sour cream. Ritz crackers are nice in there with all that goo too.

Sriracha sauce and crushed red pepper flakes adds zip to any ramen. Add an egg in to poach the last minute and some mushrooms.

Dried ramen noodles are delicious on sumi salad! Yummy! My favorite salad of all time.

Slice up a head of cabbage. Mix ramen seasoning packet with oil, sugar and a little vinegar. Mix in bowl. Crumble dried noodles on top. Add sliced almonds and mandarin oranges, if you like.

Half fill with water then add lots of lemon juice some Tajin chili spice undercook it a little so its not all soft add some garbanzo beans. Another really good option is to get the bag of clamshell pasta and cook it in a pan with butter until it's brown then open a can of red tomato paste and add water, garlic, pepper, salt and some oregano....trust me you will love it and make sure you add lemon or lime juice when it's done cooking.

Let's hear it... How to turn a .39 packet of noodles into something different and good.

I just did the noodles, drained all the water, added butter, salt, pepper and a 1/2 packet of the seasoning. Not too bad (since I wasn't wanting soup).

So...what are your tricks with this complex carb... ????

Re: RAMEN NOODLES...Give me your best recipe
Have you tried rice noodles? They're used in Vietnamese dishes. Often they're served with cilantro, fish sauce (used in Thai cooking for dishes like Basil Beef), pea pods, chopped garlic, sambals, shrimp, chicken, red pepper, red cabbage, artichokes, etc. I think you'll like them better than ramen. They absorb the flavors well. Ramen is so salty with that seasoning mix, so I'd simply ditch that. Google rice noodle salad for lots of ways to use them or substituting ramen.

Also google rice noodle wraps.

A good vermicelli either fresh or a decent brand like Barilla can be used to make Don Don Noodles. It's simply the noodles cooked al dente and making a sauce of soy, pressed garlic, red pepper flakes or sambal, and sesame oil (adds a smokiness and calories). This is a popular dish in China.

Re: RAMEN NOODLES...Give me your best recipe
Perhaps you all should take a look at this health study of what happens inside our gut, when we eat ramen noodles. Y'all better rethink this Ramen "noodle" thing.
Even after two hours, these so called noodles remain whole and not digested. This is because it contains large amounts of a preservative called TBHQ-which is related to Butane!!!! (Seriously)

See digestion video here:

Make according to directions, drain water off. Stir in 1tsp butter, some chopped up velveeta and sliced jalapeños. Stir over low heat until cheese is entirely melted. My sister used make this and to this day I still crave it at times. (Haven't had ramen in years though....)
