Anonymous Coward User ID: 16396510 Australia 05/20/2012 11:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15453182 Why is your worst-case scenario less dramatic than everyone else's? Either you or them are lying. I kinda want to find the truth to all this Fukushima stuff. There's so many different ideas flying around... UGH. Thread: Radioactive steam still coming out of Fukushima reactors — “On the order of trillions of becquerels per day” (AUDIO) Thread: 7,900 Radioactive Rods ready to enter the Pacific ! Ambassador : " Fate of Japan and the whole world depends on NO. 4 reactor " Thread: So how bad is Fukushima Reactor 4? Here is brand new video from inside. ELE is coming folks. Dig in! Thread: Gundersen: Japan is sitting on a ticking time bomb—“We’re all in a situation of having to pray there’s not an earthquake” Thread: Gundersen: Move south of equator if Unit 4 fuel pool goes dry — Like cesium from all 800 nuclear bombs ever dropped on Earth, except all at once Thread: Physicist: Fukushima Unit 2 Has 100% liquification, Never Seen Before In Nulclear Physics If your life ends prematurely and abruptly I assure you that it will have nothing to do with the nuclear crisis in Fukushima Japan... Unless you have spent more than several minutes on the site near the reactors. I know that some people (for some illusive reason) want, long and perhaps desire for this to be an extinction level event, but that simply is not going to happen.. Even in the worst case here. Demonizing nuclear power (the most likely agenda behind all of the false nuclear doom) will likely cause more problems for the average peoples of the world than anything emitted from Fukushima... A global energy crisis without viable alternatives could accelerate economic collapses, chaos and much more badness that would certainly affect you and everyone around you. Seriously, as bad as it can get, isn't ever going to live up to any of the doom predictions here. No one seems to want the truth... There are very real threats to humanity that we will be faced with if efforts to prevent it fail, and there isn't anything nuclear involved in it. Many people will develop cancers, many will suffer miscarriages and birth defects because of Fukushima. Just because they can't prove it, doesn't make TEPCO any less culpable. Their worse crime, even worse than the sheer stupidity of building it there in the first place, is their continuous denials and lies. |

This releases a surge of neutron radiation which is highly dangerous to humans and causes induced radioactivity in the surroundings. Critical or supercritical nuclear fission (one that is sustained in power or increasing in power) generally occurs inside reactor cores and occasionally within test environments. A criticality accident occurs when a critical reaction is achieved unintentionally. Although dangerous, typical criticality accidents cannot reproduce the design conditions of a fission bomb, so nuclear explosions do not occur. The heat released by the nuclear reaction will typically cause the fissile material to expand, so that the nuclear reaction becomes subcritical again within a few seconds. In the history of atomic power development, 60 criticality accidents have occurred in collections of fissile materials outside nuclear reactors and some of these have resulted in death, by radiation exposure, of the nearest person(s) to the event. However, none have resulted in explosions.[2] [link to en.wikipedia.org] G.Y.!B.E. |

He HAD to know. From the article: "In the rustic wooded setting of the presidential retreat — where each leader was assigned an individual cabin — the leaders removed their ties and business suits for shirt sleeves and spring sweaters. Obama spent time talking informally to each leader. He presented a chocolate birthday cake to Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, who turns 55 on Sunday." So while everyone was protesting at the G8, thinking the leaders would be there, they "head faked" and met at camp David. Pretty smart if you ask me. I'm just hoping the the Japanese prime minister told them the truth about what was going on. The whole "Obama got him a chocolate birthday cake" shit makes my ass twitch. umm, everyone knew they moved G3 to CD like 3 months ago. not a big bait and switch. They kept NATO in CHI, that's what you see in CHI. WHO KNOWS WTF is goin on in CD?? prob more then most could imagine.. |

Here’s how that happens. To prevent criticality, you are depending on spacing of spent fuel in the racks. If you damage [fuel racks] where you’ve got a reduced spacing between assemblies, you’ve eliminated a guard against spontaneous fission. There’s still neutron emitters and water in the area to moderate… You could actually get a criticality in the fuel pool. That would be a never ending process threes no way to shut that down. Some of the fuel doesn’t have control blades, a boiling water reactor has control blades not control rods, so some of them are unbladed. My understanding of this situation is that water is draning out of the pool at a high rate and being collected in the basement and pumped back in. This process must be inducing high leves of radiation into everything in, around and near these structures, along with everything underneath the buildings. Question, How bad is it really for workers? Things do not seem any better just worse every day. |
