Anonymous Coward User ID: 1295673 United States 05/23/2012 10:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bullshit. I believe the whole ordeal has been blown out of porprtion. At worst (if reactor 4 goes) Japan will be a radioactive wasteland. I don't think that will happen either. I don't think reactor 4 will blow either. I hear they're going to entomb it with concrete. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1417959 Reactor 4 is empty of fuel. It won't blow. You hear wrong. Entombing, if it happens, is a long way down the road. The corium must be cool, first. The concrete will not cure correctly at high temps. It's still hot at Chernobyl, 25 years later, and the containment is cracking... it is undergoing replacement. And in the event something crucial were to happen. The PTB would tell us. Why? So everyone can go into panic mode and martial law can kick into effect. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1417959 In the event? Are you really that stupid? You don't think the event hasn't happened yet? Triple meltdown with loss of containment isn't an event to you? And your personal theory that TPTB will tell us so we can go into panic mode is so childish that it doesn't deserve a response. Perfect example of misinformed ignorance. No one is denying the plant is in bad shape. We are just saying it's not a OMG let's all panic!!! Scenerio. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1417959 There is however many gullible and naive people among this board who believe all the nonsense they read (i.e. YOU) Some don't know how to cope and end up becoming depressed and or offing themselves because of fear mongers like you. I'd disagree with you and say you are the misinformed one. Tell me, oh wise one; how many people have offed themselves because of reading something on a public forum? Got a link for that? By the way, if you want credibility, learn grammar and spelling, dufus... at least use spellcheck. ~ wb |

I've been posting to a daily thread and reading articles since week one of the fuku crisis. I've watched as the information has been squashed, reports altered, sources dis-continued.. I have tons of dead links, all pertaining or related to fuku. There are a lot of unscrupulous people using this crisis to make a buck or further their own agendas. I'm not one of them. I'm just a concerned grand-father looking for the truth and posting what I believe, from my thousands of hours of paying attention and research. Believe me or don't. That is your privilege. ~ wb |

My post was merely to illustrate the upward revision of reported emissions at fuku and the cesium amounts.. which are way higher at fuku. Tepco wouldn't fudge the reports, now would they? Fuku is not over. derp. ~ [link to www.bloomberg.com] [snip] The Fukushima Dai-Ichi plant may have emitted about 900,000 terabecquerels of the iodine equivalent of radioactive iodine 131 and cesium 137 into the air at the height of the disaster, the utility known as Tepco said today in a statement. The amount is about 2 times more than the 480,000 terabecquerels estimated in February by the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency or NISA, the utility said. The total radiation release at the Chernobyl accident was estimated to be about 5.2 million terabecquerels. Several domestic and international studies have argued estimates by Japan’s nuclear regulator were too low on the radiation release from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi plant, which had three reactor core meltdowns after it was hit by an earthquake and tsunami on March 11 last year. The estimate released today by Tepco on the atmospheric release covers a period between March 12 and 31 as the emissions after April are estimated to be less than 1 percent of the amount leaked in March, the utility said. ~ |
