If these are digital images, the blue may be a result of the way the camera's color processor is adjusting for the brightest light. It may be the brightest light in the image is absorbing all the red, yellow and white/green of the light spectrum. So, that leaves the low spectrum being assigned to the less intense light source.
The "kachina" does look like the annular eclipse but I'm not sure what the composition of the image is. Looking at the intensity of the backlight on the pine tree, it seems like that light is closer than the sun although, again, it could be the way the camera is trying to compensate for the absorption of light.
