I thought Iran was able to launch a satelite into orbit recently ?

Space X is Americas saving grace after the near collapse of NASA. They have picked up many layed off NASA engineers and thanks to them, America has a somewhat viable space program. But hardly, it is Americas first try, the people that did it have done it many times before when NASA was operational. Space X is Americas saving grace.


N Korea, one of few countries with an indigenous space program has had difficulties, but it is still one of the few countries with an completely indigenous space program. On this subject I we have to give them props.


Iran has launched 3 satellites out of 4 attempts, all confirmed by NASA, and is about to launch another one any day now, by their very young and completely indigenous space program.


If you look at space programs by country, most countries that have launched satellites have used US, Russian, French SLVs entirely or a mix of, but not built and launched indigenously.

The UK build and successfully launched their own satellite on a 'Blackarrow' rocket.

Then gave it up. The only country to have had a satellite launch technology, and then give it up!?
