Considering that he's running against a soulless android with a demonstrated lack of conviction who's own party had to reach deep to find the will to vote for him, I think Obama might be just fine.

In the end, it is a popularity contest after all. Romney's facing an uphill battle, he's got;

- Hardcore Christians who think he's in a cult
- The far right think he's not conservative enough
- The moderates that see him as a panderer and flipflopper

He gives off a car salesman vibe even to most Republicans. This guy is going to have a hard sell on his hands. His only real 'base' is people who really, really, really want Obama out and are willing to do anything.
