I don't know if they are all demons, although I bet a lot of them are. I think some of them might be good spirits, but still not human. e.g. they might communicate occasionally, but it will be by symbols or even animal sounds, but not human voices. e.g. I oversleep, and they might wake me up by making me here what I think is my beeper. I am looking at porn on the computer and they make me here a pig to remind me I am dealing with filth. These kinds of things. I think they might even...well, maybe this is God, but my time can be shortened, so that I just don't have enough time to fall back into bad habits, if I'm too weak to break away myself.

Actually according to what I've read about the afterlife, the plane close to earth is very dark and murky, whereas the higher planes are lighter and more ethereal, so for good spirits to venture down to this plane and spend a lot of time here, it's hard work and not pleasant. Therefore the spirits that haunt homes on a regular basis are trapped here and either need information and guidance to find their way to the higher planes, or else are not desiring or compatible to move on to the higher planes as yet, because of the kind of life they led and their low spiritual vibration.

I am a ghost hunter and an empath. I have been exploring and investigating haunted places for years. First of all, there are at least 3 types of hauntings. There is residual haunting, which is when there is left over energy and a scene plays over and over. The woman in black is seen walking up and down the stairs with a candle. She does the same thing over and over, and she doesn't interact with anyone. It is just a scene that replays over and over, like a recording.
Then there is a spirit haunting. Grandpa pays a visit to the grandkids, etc. This is usually attracted to a person, and not a specific place, although there are spirits who do interact in haunted places, like you see on one of the ghost hunting shows. An EVP responding to a question could be considered a spirit haunting. I have experienced both types.
The third type is a poltergeist. This is a spirit that moves things and can be violent. Generally though, when a poltergeist type haunting is occuring, it is usually associated with a teenager in the home. For some reason, and we don't know why, teenagers can create their own energy and can make it seem that the occurance is a ghost, but it isn't. I have conducted an experiment with dowsing rods. Have the teen stand in front of you with you facing them with the dowsing rods, then ask him or her (it tends to work better for girls but works with boys also) to think of someone they like. The rods will cross.
The only other times that I have experienced anything "bad" or "demonic" was on Indian lands. Indians were very spiritual people and their religion had to do with the spirits of their ancestors. They were murdered and forced into slavery, starved and beaten to death, raped. They are very pissed off spirits, and rightfully so. I think that demonic hauntings are often just Native spirits. People who were angry of bad in life, often are in death. Also, Indians practiced and believed in shapeshifting. They can take the form of other things beside humanoid, and very often form as shadows.
At no time have I ever experienced, in the 15 years that I have been doing this anything like a "demon". I think that "demons" are a case of mistaken identity.

I believe in the presence and interference by demons and fallen angels; and they are powerful. But no demon can enter a person and no fallen angel can control a person unless that person first opens the door to them.

they are obviously spirits. Demons can imitate but they can't do the eyes. The eyes tell you spirit from demon.

Shadow people are attracted to children and teenagers. It could be beauty and yes boys are targeted as well. It is not the energy of the teenager that "creates" them. THey are attracted to them. Hormones, beauty and general trouble making are some of the reasons.

If you are older and have issues with shadow people and there are no teenagers or children in the house then it could be something that is more negative. In either case a person should do what they can to get rid of them even if they seem benign.

Crosses, religious prayers and just saying the name of Jesus Christ can ward off the negative energy. Their are Muslim prayers that also work.
