I looked at todays Kingergarten homework and it was ten times more material than when I was young, I was shocked. They are really pushing the youngsters these days, so there is hope.

My 3rd grade teacher was a scholastic sadist; her idea of classwork was to have the kids copy, letter for letter and symbol for symbol, random pages out of the dictionary. This took place for no less than one full hour per day. And she GRADED it. To this day, I will not open a dictionary. My hand cramps up at the mere thought of it.
