yeah the welding story is an obvious cover, there are so many QA protocols and procedures to do anything on a sub, let alone hot works. more likely chinese induction weapons test

You are without a doubt a fucking moron. Do you really think that the welder was some fat, greasy slob that works for Bob's Welding Shop in downtown Pittsburg or something? The welders on a sub are also US Navy Sailors that were trained to be welders.

Catching dirt on fire? Right. Only in your delusions.

You must consider the historical signifigance of this event. A very similar false flag started the war with spain in 1897. Maine, Miami, USN vessel. Secondly, I have a slightly above average sense of humor. it is the canadians that are not funny. Thirdly, when this war gets started with canada, and all the good looking guys get killed off, and if I dont get killed off, then a girl might be willing to settle for me. It all makes sense when you think it through. Something tells me you have not yet had your coffee/OJ/tea this morning.

Re: FIRE INSIDE USS MIAMI NUCLEAR SUBMARINE NOW
That is not what the word berthing means. The term you are looking for is sleeping quarters. The mattresses, blankets, pillows, and sheets are called bedding. Those items are all made from flame retardant materials. They are not the same as the ones in your house. All items aboard a sub must be of the highest flame retardant nature in order to prevent fires. Obviously the welding story is a cover story because it is easily believable but under closer scrutiny, the story falls apart.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15143984

Welding iskres have temperature 1200 degree in Celsium. I not undestand that USA can made "The mattresses, blankets, pillows, and sheets are called bedding." "highest flame retardant nature in order to prevent fires." In Russian fleet not sich materials for this items.

After few time you not find other reason for this fire. Remember my words.

When our people work in US submarines????

It is stupid yankee only: "eport indicates fire started in torpedo room while welding, ran up the framebays into berthing, then further up the frames into the Combat Systems Electionic Space."

Really? A welding fire? Those fucking subs are made completely of steel. There isn't anything to catch fire. So exactly what, I ask, was there to spread this fire?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15143984

Also paper, cardboard, wood, clothing, toweling, etc etc etc.....

Yea, I'm sure that there's paper, cardboard, clothing, etc. all over the floor of this sub. Fucking idiot. This is a submarine not your filthy, dirty-ass house. These ships are made with flame-retardant materials to prevent things like this from happening retard.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15143984

LMAO!!! I can almost see you red with rage blowing the sweat off your top lip as you get mean and dirty with the keyboard on me for suggesting the crew have regular cotton sheets & canvas curtains on their berths or that they read regular books and have wool socks!!! regular no less, not flame-retardant.. in their possession!

And I am the idiot?

I am sorry you feel so outraged.

I think the poster responding to you had just woken up and was cranky. Your english is fine. Berthing is an acceptable term for sleeping quarters and provisions, even here in the US. And you are also correct that anything short of ceramic space shuttle/Buran tiles will burn when exposed to the tempatures involved with this type of metalworking. The majic substance invented to avoid this was called asbestos, and like many things, it had more detriment than benefit.

There are flammable materials on a submarine. That's why the crew are trained in fire fighting. And no, the Russians did not do this. It was probably an accident.

I think the adversarial poster is trying to put out disinformation. The russians are very knowledgeable about these situations (as shown in this thread). If they wanted to do this, the technique would be much more sophisticated. I would look for one of those "keep your freinds close, but your enemies closer" clues. What nation is close to maine?

Fires happen onboard ships all the time, especially when welding is being done.

My concerns are rooted in the following. The spanish american civil war was started with a false flag attack on the USS Maine, anchored in Havana. Miami is the new havana. This ship is called the USS Miami and it is anchored in Maine. It is also the 200th year aniversary of the War of 1812, when canada invaded the USA. It might be coincidence, it might be a false flag, but one thing is for sure, I am going to be very careful around canadians, if for nothing else, to avoid buying into false flag.

If it were a common fire it would have been just a matter of closing the hatch and the fire would be starved of oxygen.

Why would you support the canadians? they are the ones who did this. There are many ways to weld. you might be thinking of stick welding (electrical arc). Now adays there are lots of fuel based approaches. MIG/TIG. Plasma and OXY torches. Grinding wheels create lots of sparks. Job sites bring lots of combustables with them. trashbags burnnch bags burn like paper. Oily paper towels used to clean surfaces and discarded about 'till the clean up time. I'll bet they find headgear from an canukistani involved as well. This is a cramped space with very high tempature tools being used. and as soon as there is a fire, the worker is going to run. I have literally caught DIRT on fire before. Because it was not an enclosed space I just stomped it out. The worker here ran.

I dont know about that. But I would assume that if there was welding going on in the vessel, it would be fuel/arc hybrid methods. Navy or civi. Pure electrical metal working creates enormous amount of EMI. On a boat like this where the whole thing it a conductor you could fry parts of the electronics and not even realize it 'till months later.

So if you are using fuel, there is always the possibility of fire. navy guys are trained to stop these fires at all cost. civi's are trained to avoid injury and regroup, hence why this got out of control. Doom off. Nobody is in the wrong here. it happens.

Do you even know what the word berthing means? It means to permanently dock a ship as with an anchor. As far as I know, anchors are made of either steel or iron neither of which catch fire.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15143984

Russian analog this in translit from russian is "koika". Place where member crew sleep during night.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16267115

Actually, our Russian friend is correct. In the US Navy, berthing means sleeping compartment. And flame retardant doesn't mean it can't catch fire. Trust me, mattresses and bedding burn hot and well if they get hot enough. Sounds to me like a shipyard worker who was supposed to be standing fire watch is gonna lose his job.

Isn't it wierd that nuclear "accidents" keep happening? First the Gulf Oil Spill was rumoured to be nuclear in nature. Then the Fuku-bullshit reactor. Now a nuclear sub is on fire. Watch how they say that it can't be put out and it ends up spewing nuclear shit for months or years.

Interestingly enough, this comes on the heels of Romney pulling way ahead of Obama in Florida. Coincidence? I don't think so.
