99% of Breast Cancer Contains This (Not Aluminum) (Applies to Sunscreen, too!)
[link to articles.mercola.com]

New research examining parabens found in cancerous human breast tissue points the finger at antiperspirants and other cosmetics for increasing your risk of breast canceri.

The research, which is also reviewed in an editorial published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology, looked at where breast tumors were appearing, and determined that higher concentrations of parabens were found in the upper quadrants of the breast and axillary area, where antiperspirants are usually appliedii.

Parabens are chemicals that serve as preservatives in antiperspirants and many cosmetics, as well as sun lotions. Previous studies have shown that all parabens have estrogenic activity in human breast cancer cells.

Re: 99% of Breast Cancer Contains This (Not Aluminum) (Applies to Sunscreen, too!)
This is an excellent article and very eye opening.

I don't use too many parabens in my daily routine because I know they are horrible... I've tried to get all my products down to all natural.

But I just want to add here that I used to use your typical aluminum etc. laden antiperspirant deodorant...

And I used to get a terrible swelling/knot in my breast, along with pain in my armpit and sometimes even a knot in my armpit. This happened over the span of several years that I used the shit.

About 3 years ago, I cut out aluminum etc. antiperspirant, and now only use NaturallyFresh (it and variants are available at a lot of stores).

I have literally never had the breast/armpit flare up OR soreness, ever again.

Antiperspirants are horrific and I feel so bad that so many women (and men) use them and may not ever link any possible glandular problems to it.

And just as a side note...

A lot of people may be apprehensive about going with a natural deodorant because they think they'll be plagued with armpit odor, their sweating might get worse, whatever...

I just want you to know that your body WILL ADJUST TO THE CHANGE. It takes usually 2 weeks to a month. Your body will eventually adjust and you'll have less of a problem with odor than you have ever had before... as for the sweating, well guess what YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FUCKING SWEAT.

im like mister obvious.
every once in awhile a node in my armpit will swell and be very sore.
it goes away after several days.

reminds me of the movie THEY LIVE.
remember how all the news anchors stopped wearing makeup and deodorant?
i forget why but they looked AWFUL on the screen.

interesting the study shows that parabens collect in the armpit area of the body, for some reason..

perhaps there are glands there that retain them as the blood flows?

It was the movie "Batman" where they stopped wearing make-up etc, it was because Jack Nicholson (the Joker) had poisoned the cosmetics if combined etc. In "They Live" the people looked messed up because they were aliens or something (not really aliens...that movie was about "other folks" that manipulate the public, but they couldn't really say it...so they made them "aliens" to be more PC).

p.s. Good post Sandi, I wonder what folks in about 100 years will find out about what we are using as everyday products now...and if they will shudder thinking about how "in the dark" we are/were to the toxic dangers we constantly subject ourselves to.

Same here when using anti-perspirants. I stopped using them several months ago and since then i do not get any pain or swelling. I've started using a natural crystal product, dont get any smell but i do still sweat.

I'd rather sweat a little and have no pain than no sweat and lots of pain

the point im making is that parabens applied all over the body or ingested will collect in lymph nodes as the blood transports the parabens about the body.

I am a man and I refuse to use antiperspirants and haven't done so in a few years because like you, I get paint in my armpits. Its like the muscle in there cramps up. This happens after a week or so of use. It is agonizing pain and prevents me from doing my job which is a very physical one.

parabens are in EVERYTHING you put on your body, even a lot of the natural products. Usually the last couple of ingredients since its a preservative. Its ridiculous!

as for deodorants, there are a couple of liquid deodorants that are basically mineral salts and water. you can find these at most health food stores
