Sports Fans -

Away, away so a quick post to the Kooler Kool -

An opening and empty chair at that Satuday night table would bring me back to Australia in heartbeat. Nothing but heart at that table. Lovely, Kool.

There's a line I love in a tune by Noah and the Whale that goes something like "you've got more than money and sense, my friend, you've got heart and you're going your own way..."

That's your table's song, Kool. Set 'em up. Next round's on me.

You got heart, Killer K.

Best to Friend, Sister Sloane, Brother Jasper and to all others I've yet to meet.

Fight the power!

You are a killer for sure Bx, and have made your mark in my heart, will keep an empty chair waiting :)

Re: Are you a thread killer?
I took my daughter to karaoke at her local pub, last night, she goes every Saturday night, and sings two songs.
A young Aboriginal guy with his Auntie came up to us, what a darling he turned out to be, he flirted with Ami, got her up dancing, his auntie was sweet too, he made us laugh and neither had any chips on their shoulders.
The room filled with the winners of the community, who look past us, but he told me how he sees the beauty inside and it was true, not only words, because it was so evident in his very being.

Later he told me he'd had a sister with the same condition as Ami, who had passes away when 19, and he could see her alive again in her.
Genuine caring and respect, camaraderie, standing against the current of dog-eats-dog, is rare in these days, I was so touched to have come across it, in this crisis time of mine, in a pub on a Saturday night, of all places :)

I suspect to the crowd, we were this bunch of losers sitting there, a middle-aged woman, a handicapped girl, and two Aboriginals, but it really hit me like a minor epiphany, how 'special' we really were.
 Quoting: K.Kool

Nice post!

But nobody asked you what you sang, so... what did you sing?

:-P

And talking about songs, I'm gonna share this one with you:

Yeah, kind of... affected, but I don't know, I felt like I wanted to share. It's a beautiful song. "Me likes it". Moreover, we're on page 333!
 Quoting: Who.

:)

Thankyou!

You would not want to hear me sing, I don't inflict it on anyone (well, some family and close friends do cop it, ahaha).

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Sloane, I remember that ride. An elephant never forgets. Tusk, tusk. Your tan still shows in the picture. You sang a song as you rode me. Again, and again. You sang. And while it nice the first few times, you kept singing 'ebony and ivory' over and over. For hours. Couldn't get the song out of my head after that (I forgot, did I mention an elephant never forgets). Truth be told, sister, that shit got old after nine hours despite the melodic lilt of your voice.

I also recall the tender touch of your hand as you fed me peanuts. The crack of shells as they echoed across the dry, barren, sky. Later, you led me to rich golden hay. I should have warned you what happens when I hit the hay, but I was under your spell. Ah, and your ripe, rich smell. After the first bale, I couldn't stop. Once I start with the hay, all bets are off. I'll give anyone a ride for the hay. Easy that way. It's how I lumber, Jack.

So I left you in the savannah sun. Left you in a lurch, for a blowsy blonde in a sun dress (not as nice as yours, as the picture confirms, but in a sun dress just the same). She had a truck-load of hay and a pocket-full of peanuts. And she was happy to see me. Did I mention I'm easy that way? But I'll always remember you, Slone. The wind in your hair. Your laugh free of care. Was it silk underwear?

Tis a sad sweet memory far apart, but I remain faithful in my elelphant heart.

If I recall, err, remember correctly.

i found a peanut. so i put it in my back pack whilst i was pondering the universe. when waiting for traffic, i heard a familiar tune coming for the left hand passenger door of a passing velvet colored Volvo. It was on the left hand side of the road, after slowing down for traffic and the amber light he was considering. after walking across the pedestrian pass i considered my peanut. who would have thought that a non-living object dropped from a tree into the earth could also grow into a tree. and then i pondered neal from the young ones......
