All quiet on the western wind-swept front. I wonder where they've gone. Maybe they've been raptured. There's no outlines of bodies in the ceiling above. No rush of wind coming down from the roof nesting doves. Camping? Not Harold, but camping with kits. Swiss Army Knife, canteen, sterno tins, mosquito repellant. Camping kit shit. To the mountains they went. Others to the plains. Everyone's gone camping, despite the threat of rain.

Maybe all have moved away. A rumble and rap. Magma and the Asthenosphere; something's knocking at the mantle.

"Someone's knocking at the door. Somebody's ringing a bell. Do me a favor open the door and let 'em in ooh, ohh, yeah, yeah....."

The lads, the ruttles. They can pull us from this rut. But they've been quiet too; in sand and stone like Tut. No more caverns in Hamburg. No tories for the purg. No more livers in the pool or hills just meant for fools, I should have listened to Mama and kept my ass in school.

All is quiet on the western wind-swept front except the tax man who told me I was a whingy, whiny, c#nt. He's all that's left of the others. I wonder where they've gone.

Trickybigguy - WHAT AN AWESOME VIDEO.

Yes be a part of the solution.

"They have gained control over every aspect of our lives" - sad truth.

"He who controls the money controls the world" - not necessarily.

"People can thrive." Most definitely. "We the people can do it."

A Friend - I really hope you and K.Kool come to Santa Fe.

It would be pretty amazing. The energy is rejuvenating here.

Couldn't I stow-away in any one of a number of industrial tin cans attached with rope to your rear bumper, Friend. This way, people will think you and the hubby are newlyweds again (as I'm sure you are now with every day a holiday and every meal a feast of marital bliss) and you'll get vocoo swag on the road while enabling me to get the hell out of dodge.

If those red tail lights are rockin,' don't come a knockin' (on the tin drum 'cause there's a guy in there, fool.).

Whataya think huh, huh?

You can sit in a tin can if you like or ride in the front makes no matter there is no hubby he's up yonder in the pale blue singing with the cherubim or what ever it is they do up there. Besides a tin can in the back is illegal. Much more comfortable in front anyway. Captain's chairs, bed, tv, duel radios, cool running lights that make it look like an airplane. You can stand straight up in back. I'm not sure what more a guy could ask for. And that's just the van. :) See why I have to travel.

Sorry about your husband, Friend. When we were speaking of orphans and you mentioned your husband I made the leap he was with you. Great apologies and I'm truly sorry if I appeared insensitive. It was not my intent and I'm so appreciative of the thoughtful consideration you always show me. Again, and as always, I wish all good things to you, Friend.

Now, back to being a mooching bastard looking for a ride. Man, I'm in. No tin cans for me. No tail lights blinding me (bad enough I think every where I go is a red light district). I'm in with the Gypsy. In the front row, baby.

well,,,she has concluded it...

Me, now, today, this very minute, am hatching dream-state plans for epic road-trips through the U.S. of A,
killers on board,
meeting other killers
our knives sheathed temporarily,
or we can kill as we go,
'tis a mad plan fer sho,
'tis why I like it,
I hope beyond these dreary autumn skies,
that my Big Boss approves.

Dancing with Sloane is something I would not want to miss

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Aw, Kool. Looks like it's filet of sole for dinner tonight. Him with his foot in his mouth.

Liked Aus very much. Spent time in Cairns (GB Reef diving, Kuranda rail through the rainforest, etc.), and Heron Island, the coral cay near the Tropic of Capricorn. I particularily liked this. I stayed at the marine research station (only allowed 70 people to stay there at one time) when the baby green turtles hatched and made their run to the water. Amazing to watch as the birds swooped and the turtles scampered. After some time on Heron, I flew to Brisbane (liked that city a lot) and then on to Sydney. Ended the trip in Fiji (wanted to see the Blue Lagoon) and stayed longer than I planned. A good place to dream a dream in jungles hot and green. Kava King was I.

And as much as the above was lovely, all pale compared to a night singing songs and telling tales with the likes of you and your daughter.

Nice new pic, by the way, Kool. Full of promise (and nice cleave) and diamonds on the water. Best to you, Killer.

:)

Best to you, too Killer Bx, nice to hear about your trip to Oz. I've never been to Cairns, but did live on the east coast for some years.
The west is less tame, its wild beauty drew me back, but I like the east coast for its variety and tropical environment, and the people there, dare I say it, are more open and friendly.
W.A. had the reputation for friendliness, but it it seems to have gone as the mining boom took off.
Would love to sit down with ya and have a beer or two, if not in Oz, maybe in the U.S of A.
It has long been a must-do of mine, to meet a GLP'er in the flesh

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Hi K.Kool - I should mention that dancing in Santa Fe is not like big city nightclub dancing.

I love it more actually. But it is always live music, rock or blues, no DJs - although I love DJs but just a different way here. Blue jeans and boots are the norm, in places that are really casual, saloon style. People just get up and dance, without a care about having a partner.

And not a pretentious person around. And I have been in some pretentious places, so I truly appreciate this. You've got twenty somethings tatted and inked and the seventy year old true blue cowboys, all having a good time together. It is very friendly. I often come home with a bunch of names and numbers I've been given thru the night and usually can't remember who they are, haha! Just people that want to be friends.

I think you'll like it.

AND TRICKY! Thanks so much for the movie - I look forward to watching it this weekend.

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Good to see you, Kool. Yeah, I loved the people in Aus. Those I met, and chose to spend time with, were either really witty, or bawdy as hell. To a person, they were generous with both time and spirit, kind, and smart. When time allows in the future, I'll be back (and Cairns really is worth a visit, Kool, as you have the rainforset and the Reef - a pretty magnificent spot on this big blue ball) no doubt about it.

Would love to meet you in the States, Kool. I envision the Friend caravan being somewhat similar to the 'Merry Pranksters' trip Kesey ("One Flew Over the Cockoo's Nest") put together with Neal Cassidy and others. The 'Pranksters' traveled across America and some of their adventures were woven into Kerouac's "On the Road" and definitively in Tom Wolfe's "The Electric Koolaid Acid Test."
Where's my ticket? I'm down for all but the acid.

Gather-up Sloane in Santa Fe and bring over Who from Spain and Jasper from Scotland and we'd have the makings of rambling, gambling, group of thread killers. Add other killers here I've yet to meet that you guys know and care for, and we'd have one foot over the rail ready to leap at adventures not yet seen.

Woo, Mama. Hide the needles and spools of thread, there's some killers on the road.

Hope this finds you well, sister. Always good to read you, Killer Kool.

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Hundreds of places in the United States have Spanish names. Santa Fe, the county and city of the same name in New Mexico, got their name from a Spanish phrase meaning holy faith (fe is a feminine noun meaning faith and the adjective santo means holy). The original name given in 1582 was la Cuidad de la Santa Fe de San Francisco, or the City of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis. This was later shortened to Santa Fe.

Just in case you didn't know!

Re: Are you a thread killer?
The Longest Word in English (Pronounced)

[snip]

The English word has 189,819 letters and takes more than 3.5 hours to pronounce

This video is so boring it makes waiting in line at to renew your driver's license seem exciting.
The longest word in the English language is 189,819 letters long and takes more than 3.5 hours to say.

The word, which is too long for us to write out because you would be scrolling forever, is the chemical name for titin. Also known as connectin, it is the largest known polypeptide in the human body and is important in the contraction of striated muscle tissue.

Geekologie suggests having a contest with your friends to see who can watch the video the longest without bashing their head on their desk.

I made it nine minutes before skipping ahead to see if the video is all the same. After about three minutes it all starts to sound the same and from what we can tell the guy doesn't even get up to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water and he manages to stay awake. As he finished he doesn't seem excited and when he finally says the last syllable he doesn't sigh, he just stares blankly into the camera and then stands up and walks out of frame.

However, the title of world's longest word may be up for debate. Lexicographers consider chemical compounds to be verbal formulae instead of actual English words. The longest English word that appears in a dictionary is the 45-letter pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. It is alleged to mean "a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust," according to Oxford Dictionaries. Scientists now just refer to it as P45.

The longest non-technical non-coined word in the English language hasn't changed since I learned this word when I was in elementary school. Antidisestablishmentarianism is 28 letters long and refers to a 19th century political movement that opposed the disestablishment of the Church of England, according to Oxford.

The longest non-technical, coined word is Floccinaucinihilipilification. It is 29 letters long and is a noun meaning "the action or habit of estimating something as worthless," according to the dictionary.

As for the longest word, the video, which is now going viral, may be best used for helping to fall asleep.
