Re: Are you a thread killer?
Fascinating!!! I had no idea.

My son had a best friend from Finland and I got to know his family well.

Somebody just called and said 'have you left yet?' and I said I'm out the door - but waiting for Kool's reply, haha!

A bit yes. Through my post we found out Sloane, Jasper and me are all military brats and thought that was an amazing thing... I was wondering about you guys.

Put in brats in the search you should get it it's called calling brats of all shapes and you will see what it's about... it is really about 3rd culture kids.

Oh darn I am rushing out the door to a meeting, and can't chat, but really want to know where did you move to Oz from???

Quickly then, from Finland

Killer Kool - Good to see you sister. Hope things are evening-out and your daughter is back to form and well.

Sister Sloane - As mentioned earlier, if anyone was to kill the hot dog thread I'm glad it was someone in the familia and good taste in music.

DB thanks for the Friend inclusion. As Friend likes to say in Bostanese, "You're a pissah." It's nice getting to know you.

And Friend, I've noticed that about Who as well.

Who is the Godfather, the Patroni puppeteer pulling the strings of his clueless, but ruthless, assassins while drinking scotch from the cupped breasts of a busty princess in exile somewhere near Athens. International mystery and intrigue aside, who is Who? A descendent of Dr. Jekyll, or a modern day Dr. Wu? That mysterious Who.

Who keeps pulling our strings and we kill threads at his command. We love and loathe what he's done to us. No victims (except the threads), only volunteers among the killer elite. Mechanics. We tune threads up and shut them down with the tools of our choosing. Or not.

Not a brat, Friend, but I did my bid in Uncle Sam's service. No regrets and I'm glad I served.

I'm kinda hoping the mysterious esteemed Who (who is really Dr Who, the Time Lord, since this thread is immortal) will grant us his tidbits of a life,
it would be so interesting to hear tales told in exile, from the cupped breasts of a busty princess

Ah, I see the funny guy is following me to our quiet little corner at land's end. As I'd treat a disease-ridden maggot, I'll not sully this clean, well-lighted place with the stuff of dung and will take my pest control elsewhere. No matter the thread, It's so easy to swat this whiny pissant away.

Friend, regarding your sons, if your demeanor here is indicative of the mother you are I'm certain your two sons are good and honorable young men and will be fine. You've gotten all your commercials in by now and the best you can do now is simply love them and trust they'll do the next right thing as best they can. Easier in the saying than the doing, but that's about all the control you have. Just have to trust all will be well.

I was a kid when I went in (17) and the night before I left for bootcamp my family had a party and all my uncles and cousins that served before me (from WWII to Vietnam) had words of wisdom and humor. Among many things, I was told to keep my head down, to keep clear of and never side-up to officers, and when stateside to salute anything that moved and paint everything else that didn't. For the most part, I was given sound advice, but much of it was outdated and based on their experiences. Much of it didn't apply to my time and experiences in the service. The same can be said for your sons. Each time period served is different.

I believe mothers have worried about their sons in service from the beginning of time. My mother has always been a tough cookie, but I knew she was concerned when I went in. That she had to sign for me because of my age added to her angst. And while she never said anything, I knew she worried. It seems the same for you. I guess all you can do is love you sons and trust they'll do ok.

I know you're proud of your sons and I wish them both God speed and great good things.

You're a good egg, Friend, and it's nice to be coming to get to know you. Bet to you and your family.

Sloane - There is a beautiful poetic justice to this world of wonders. Music heard from distant rooms when all hope seems lost.

It looks like you're going notch your club with the killing of my hot dog thread. It gives me such pleasure that we kept it in the family. Costra Nostra. Our thing.

I started the thread to illustrate my belief that the hot dog was the Comedian of foods. Full of shit unseen. A comedian. The thread was taken seriously and I learned much about hot dogs and the add-on preferences of others on same.

You came along, with that Sloane-like song, and killed that mutha.

Loves me some thread killing womens. True Dat!

Well now that you're here I have a question . . . I was fascinated to see your tag line read 'a kinder gentler version' and waited for it. Ha!

But I see that you have removed it. Why so? Was it just a moment of . . . well you tell me. What's your story?
