Loved 'Ironclad,' Johnny.

Camera on the neck and the flicks of black in film had an a great 8 mil noir/cheap motel in Baron Rouge feel. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a world-weary redhead in torn stockings tied to the bed. Great controlled growl of early Waits, but clearly surpassed by the hyena. Keep them coming, please.

Closing arguments could end today
Somebody somewhere will ultimately pay
The darkies are coming get out of the way
Don't go to Walmart the overweight say

I just hope my Timmy makes it home in one piece
I feel like a Palestinian near a bulldozer beast
The darkies are coming on honkys they'll feast
Hope my stupid sister hides my pretty neice

Race wars are coming the cultures will clash
And liking demon Oprah won't give us a pass
The darkies are coming my potatoes won't mash
I'd bug-out if I could but they stole all my gas

People are boasting they have all their guns
I wish I had listened to those dark habit nuns
The darkies are coming and it won't be no fun
If I was only born in Kenya I'd get up and run

So do I . . . this thought has passed through my mind several times today, while I am away from home and with lots of other people, how strange is that? . . . but the things people write about here are so genuine . . . it's really quite remarkable to me.

I'm very happy to have met you all here and hope it is in person one day. Maybe around a campfire if Spirit666 pulls it off . . . of course I am counting on the girls visiting SF next year :)

Is there another get-together being planned?
If it fits in with my timing, I'd like to go to that, too :)

never short on ideas, that's for sure, and I have to say I'm being very well looked after, by my Lord, the Christ Jesus,
so if he wants me to take the trip, I'm sure the money will materialize (it's happened before, when I wanted to go to the Philippines).

This guy with the car...I suspect he's unreliable, so don't think I want to rely on the wine-tour idea.
I have a lot of land around me, my latest idea is to grow vegetables for a 'salad pack' and sell them locally, and I'm gluing shells onto mirrors, to sell, and also worm-farms.

Much love to all of you!

I like the salad pack and shell mirror projects, Koolio. Sound like potential winners.

At long last isn't it a relief to know we need only take our actions in earnest and the results are out of our hands? That guiding grace knows each sparrow's fall and our needs are always noted. Nice to spring and meet the world from that place. Happy for you.

The worm farm sounds interesting, but I've always been partial to owning a flea circus. It's an itch I haven't scratched, but the thought of a paper clip high wire traversed by a peg-legged flea appeals to me. Forget a better mousetrap, build a ruddy fine flea circus and the world beats a path to your door.

No yellowed piles for you, Koolio; you sound rock solid and chock full of ideas.

Johnny where the hell you been? Saw hynea clip on the "best punk" thread and it made me smile. Nicely done.

The thread was pretty disappointing and simply listed the usual shit.

And while much can be said for the DKs and X, I was always partial to UK punk -No Wire, Buzzcocks, or Stiff Little Fingers listed that I saw - and I found, with the exception of the hyena, the thread the stuff of Casey Kasam with a safety pin.

Good things to you, brother.

Yes, you get where I'm 'coming from' Mac, must be your Catholic heritage, heh.

I hope no-one thinks I'll be trying to convert you or be sprouting Church doctrine with every mouthful of wine..

I try to be better company than that, and I'm more than content to leave conversions as private matters between a heart and the Holy Spirit :)

A flea circus is simply brilliant Mac, now you have my mind busy with a worm/flea combo, visions like those scenes in 'Dune' where those gigantic spice worms get ridden by courageous fleas...

Kool - love the seashells around the mirrors! I would love them.

My mom used to glue shells around wooden/bamboo buckets and I always thought she should sell them, but she only made them for friends and family - not being very business minded. I still have one - I love it.

Can you collect shells on the beach there? Or do you have to buy them?

Never disappoint me, Friend D. A boon to me is what you are. A gift and safe harbor of continuity here.

That said, the punk thread (I didn't see you on it) was chock full of the usual suspects: Sex Pistols, Clash, Ramones, etc.

Not saying the above aren't of note (especially the late Joe Strummer and the Clash), but it was a pretty mainstream rendering of all things punk. Like an intro class: Punk 101. Buy the book and wear Elvis Costello glasses and you're sure to get an "A" after watching the detectives in a strategically torn t-shit.
