Re: Are you a thread killer?
Slone - Thanks for the TV on the Radio clip.

About a year and half ago, no matter where I went, TV's 'Second Song' was playing. Everywhere I went. Everywhere. Including the dicey spots. And the non-dicey spots. And from windows I passed. And from cars that passed me. It was quite nice. Hearing the song. Again. And again. The horns in the song went right through me. And caused car horns to honk at me. As I chased the cars, of TV's 'Second Song,' to hear the horns that went through me.

If you haven't heard the song, but you probably have, please do. I think you'd like it.

Best.

I so love it when a song comes after me like that - just WOW!

This one . . . same band.

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Thoughts about tenor and tone.

Kipling's "If" comes to mind.

"If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs......."

Also, my belief reinforced, and my experience confirms, (over and over across many miles) that if you come upon a clearing and see a gathering of whirling dervishes it is always best to simply take a seat and watch them whirl. Unless, of course, you enjoy a spin, with a deafening rush of wind, filling your ears with a hypnotic hum, and a view of the world as a blur. If not, simply take a seat and watch them whirl in the air of dervishood.

"When you've the air of dervishood inside, you'll float above the world and there abide."

Feet on the ground, that's me. Head in the clouds.

I remember in me yoof the Jam's "All Mod Cons" lp.

Paul Weller. "What you give is what you get." The Jam.

Are all Mods Cons? Are we promised all modern conveneinces all mod cons promise? Dangerous questions. Land mines underfoot. Takes a heart like Mary's when her man gets weak. So Joan said. Mitchell?

There's an arc, Joan,
So you say, Noah. Ascending or descending?
I'm not certain, but I'm in a jam. Of a kind. Two, of a kind.
We shall see, she said. We shall see.

Only Mad Dogs, and Englishmen, in the noonday sun.
.
Wednesday. Another day come.

Your tone is reflective tonight Bx, is it Wednesdays that spring it forth?
No dervishing for me, if I want to spin out I just get drunk.
With my feet firmly planted on some green grass or beach sand.
Are you in a jam? May it liquify soon so you can be free of that sticky mess.
Finnish relatives flew off today, my uncle that looks like my dead Dad, only saner.
I went walking in the sunny autumn afternoon, grateful that I'm not sick or dead.

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Morning - No, all is well, Kool. Just entertaining myself. If I did it anywhere else, I'd be issued paper slippers and handed a small white paper cup of medicine.

The Boston shite and it's aftermath is really a shame. Not certain when the bonfire and book burning begin, but there's a lot of little minds running across the broken window glass left in the gutter. The simpering mob always waits for direction and slightly bigger, but no less little, minds to fill the void. Exhuming McCarthy as Mr. Snipes said. Tito, Franco, Mussolini, and old Trotsky with an ice axe to the ear. Minor, compared to others, but able to wreak havoc in their way.

Hope the visit was well. Must of been nice to spend time with the uncle who looked like your father without the parental buttons. My father was the oldest of four boys and they grew-up in an orphanage after their drunken father tossed them away. The boys, my father included, did ok but carried their scars for life.
Hard men. All of them. But they had a code. Their own sense of honor. You'd never see them at a bonfire or book burning.

Time for walk in the sun. As usual, good idea, Kool. A trailblazer, you are.

Best to you.

Re: Are you a thread killer?
Good day to my fellow thread killers. Reflective moods all; from korat's strange art to dervishes in the night. It brings me to my own places of inner spaces.

My husband too thrown out by his mother with his brother and sister to be raised in an orphanage in Zimbabwe. Me, tossed away at 15 to care for myself but also my family financially.

We all come with so many ghosts that travel with us. They travel behind us, within us, some even before us announcing our presence like a town crier though we never see them but others do.

We wonder why people see us as they do. They see our ghosts which float about us as a mist, hiding anything of our true nature which pops out now and then in unguarded moments of joy or sadness. Reflections through the mists.

Yes, they are killing us along with the bees with toxic foods and there are actual farmers committing suicide because their crops are so bad since they started growing monsanto.

I'd love a farm. A small family farm with fruits and veggies and a cow or two for dairy and or course hemp and cannabis. Maybe some goats and chickens. That would be fun. Hard to do on a boat or a trailer though. Perhaps travel enough till I found the perfect spot for the farm. Yeah, that's it. That's the plan. :D

Boy, actually TRYing to kill threads is much different than just killing them. It makes it more stressful but kind of fun at the same time.
