Quoting: K.Kool A young Aboriginal guy with his Auntie came up to us, what a darling he turned out to be, he flirted with Ami, got her up dancing, his auntie was sweet too, he made us laugh and neither had any chips on their shoulders. The room filled with the winners of the community, who look past us, but he told me how he sees the beauty inside and it was true, not only words, because it was so evident in his very being. Later he told me he'd had a sister with the same condition as Ami, who had passes away when 19, and he could see her alive again in her. Genuine caring and respect, camaraderie, standing against the current of dog-eats-dog, is rare in these days, I was so touched to have come across it, in this crisis time of mine, in a pub on a Saturday night, of all places :) I suspect to the crowd, we were this bunch of losers sitting there, a middle-aged woman, a handicapped girl, and two Aboriginals, but it really hit me like a minor epiphany, how 'special' we really were. It sounds like you had a good time. I always have a better time with people outside my area. Probably the Navy Brat in me. I'm glad for both of you. :144: But Lord, he stinketh! :fnecsm: "When the sky crackles in an electric dance of a beautiful requiem of lapis lazuli, maybe you will remember..." ~ Anonymous Coward 77360040 |

What a beautiful post! No way did you look like a 'bunch of losers' - just the kind of table I would have walked over to and said hello. YAY what a great night! :everytime: And Dead Beacon - hooray for 333 :) |
