I took my daughter to karaoke at her local pub, last night, she goes every Saturday night, and sings two songs.
A young Aboriginal guy with his Auntie came up to us, what a darling he turned out to be, he flirted with Ami, got her up dancing, his auntie was sweet too, he made us laugh and neither had any chips on their shoulders.
The room filled with the winners of the community, who look past us, but he told me how he sees the beauty inside and it was true, not only words, because it was so evident in his very being.

Later he told me he'd had a sister with the same condition as Ami, who had passes away when 19, and he could see her alive again in her.
Genuine caring and respect, camaraderie, standing against the current of dog-eats-dog, is rare in these days, I was so touched to have come across it, in this crisis time of mine, in a pub on a Saturday night, of all places :)

I suspect to the crowd, we were this bunch of losers sitting there, a middle-aged woman, a handicapped girl, and two Aboriginals, but it really hit me like a minor epiphany, how 'special' we really were.

Nice post!

But nobody asked you what you sang, so... what did you sing?

:-P

And talking about songs, I'm gonna share this one with you:

Yeah, kind of... affected, but I don't know, I felt like I wanted to share. It's a beautiful song. "Me likes it". Moreover, we're on page 333!
