Anonymous Coward User ID: 1950229 United States 05/25/2012 02:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | now rsoe is showing 0 near earth objects for the next thirty days. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1950229 [link to hisz.rsoe.hu] scroll all the way to bottom are we actually getting the 24 hr warning right now? are the "in 3 days" warning just pacifing bs? Closest objects over next year, this one is number 2: [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] And 275 NEO are known to approach closer than 5 LD in the future and this one is number 4 out 275 for nominal distance and very comparable to 2012 DA14 which got MSM attention [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] maybe this "unexpected" asteroid will bring about that catastophic earthquake in argentina tptb are so desperate for, so they can get their greedy little british hands on the falklands and the south pole. wouldnt that be so convenient? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 14459915 United States 05/25/2012 02:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's a few questions! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1673157 since this rock is predicted to pass about 38,000 km from Earth, is that distance from the center point or mean sea level? What is the orbit distance of geosynchronous satellites? Will this rock take any of them out as it passes? From the center of the Earth. In the Wikipedia article on 2012 DA14 it says: "On February 15, 2013, DA14 will pass no closer than 0.000181 AU (27,100 km; 16,800 mi) from the center-point of the Earth, which is no closer to the Earth's surface than 3.2 Earth radii." |
