A statement released by David Guggenheim..

Thank you for your additions.
It really doesn't appear to be a coincidence, especially since he's nicknamed the "Ocean Doctor" and is a major proponent of ocean conservation.
 Quoting: I'm May

I know. This video is kinda long, but it has him in there and it is recent. It is about how social media's impact on climate change. I wonder if it has anything to do with this??

He talks at about 19 minutes.

So this really caught my attention so I really did my research. Here we go.

David Guggenheim is a senior member of Ocean Doctor, an agency that advocates responsible use of our oceans. Their about me is linked below.

[link to oceandoctor.org]

This leads us to why this may be happening to this man. In researching I looked to find news (obviously) of anything that David had been working on.

After many false hits and lots of misdirecting links I finally found some gold. This.

[link to www.mission-blue.org]

A small excerpt states.

"Guggenheim pointed out that this was the first manned exploration of the Bering Sea canyons. “There’s so much of the ocean we haven’t explored, and really we’re just beginning to understand what’s down there,” he said.

To prevent fishing fumbles from irreversibly impacting the canyons, Greenpeace’s Hocevar and a number of other conservation organizations are calling for the Bering Sea’s first fully protected marine reserve in the Zhemchug canyon that would ban destructive trawling and industrial long lining. Ultimately, he said, curtailing fishing acreage would actually increase the productivity of surrounding fishing areas since the canyons and corals act as a nursery for young fishes that would eventually migrate into fishing grounds as harvestable adults."

The expedition that brought Guggenheim to call for this action occurred in March of this year. Not only that, but attached to this article is youtube video where they go on to point out the need for protection. Protection that was previously denied in 2006 as stated in the first sentence of the article.

Well why would you do something so drastic to keep a fishery open right?.. Say you had another reason for wanting that area to remain unprotected...

Merry Christmas

This article outlines Presidential Directive NSPD-66 from 2009 under the subject: Arctic Region Policy.

Found Here [link to www.fas.org]

"The United States is an Arctic nation, with varied and compelling interests in that region"

"The Arctic region is primarily a maritime domain; as such, existing policies and authorities relating to maritime areas continue to apply, including those relating to law enforcement.[1] Human activity in the Arctic region is increasing and is projected to increase further in coming years. This requires the United States to assert a more active and influential national presence to protect its Arctic interests and to project sea power throughout the region."

"Freedom of the seas is a top national priority. The Northwest Passage is a strait used for international navigation, and the Northern Sea Route includes straits used for international navigation; the regime of transit passage applies to passage through those straits. Preserving the rights and duties relating to navigation and overflight in the Arctic region supports our ability to exercise these rights throughout the world, including through strategic straits."

"The Senate should act favorably on U.S. accession to the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea promptly, to protect and advance U.S. interests, including with respect to the Arctic. Joining will serve the national security interests of the United States, including the maritime mobility of our Armed Forces worldwide. It will secure U.S. sovereign rights over extensive marine areas, including the valuable natural resources they contain. Accession will promote U.S. interests in the environmental health of the oceans. And it will give the United States a seat at the table when the rights that are vital to our interests are debated and interpreted."

"Energy development in the Arctic region will play an important role in meeting growing global energy demand as the area is thought to contain a substantial portion of the world's undiscovered energy resources. The United States seeks to ensure that energy development throughout the Arctic occurs in an environmentally sound manner, taking into account the interests of indigenous and local communities, as well as open and transparent market principles. The United States seeks to balance access to, and development of, energy and other natural resources with the protection of the Arctic environment by ensuring that continental shelf resources are managed in a responsible manner and by continuing to work closely with other Arctic nations."

This order proves the importance of this land remaining free from environmental scrutiny.

whether fuel from Alberta's oilsands is transported via the planned Northern Gateway outlet at Kitimat, B.C., or from the Vancouver terminus of the Trans-Mountain Pipeline, the most direct route to China would be through the Unimak Pass

Unimak Pass goes right over the areas Guggenheim is trying to get protection status.

This could all tie in to Obama deciding to stop pushing for the keystone pipeline. New options that don't need to be put into the spotlight of politics so close to an election.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12331832

1. DailyMail, Washington Post, and Huffington Post

He says the police responded to his court complaint by presenting a handwritten note from a nurse saying that his wife had “indicated her injuries were caused by her husband.” He says he believes the document to be a fabrication, and Svetlana Guggenheim has told The Washington Post that she doesn’t remember anything about the attack or about who assaulted her.
 Quoting:

OK, now read this:

2. DailyMail.co.uk

Mystery of top marine biologist's wife found beaten in her home... but doesn't remember attack or 'telling police her HUSBAND did it

Svetlana Guggenheim 'told nurses that ocean expert husband David left her with fractured skull and other injuries'
 Quoting:

and this:

3. DailyMail.co.uk

Guggenheim said a nurse told him last Thursday that he could again visit his wife. He thinks that permission came because his wife signed a separate statement, videotaped by her daughter, indicating that Guggenheim had nothing to do with her injuries and that any statement to the contrary should be considered invalid.
 Quoting:

Uh-huh! Now read this!

4. ONLY in the DailyMail: (The AMERICAN sources don't have this)

The only other clue that remains is a cryptic message that Svetlana wrote to her daughter during one visit, where she implied that her attacker was an acquaintance.

The exact wording of the message is unknown, and she did not identify the individual, but Miss Pavlichenko is said to have brought it to the attention of the U.S. attorney's office.

While investigators would like to think that note is the smoking gun of the case, their hopes have been thwarted as she now does not remember the person she mentioned.
 Quoting:

Wait a minute! Didn't they first say that she wrote that HE did it, and now they're saying that it was an acquaintance? who DID she say did it?

- AND -

Why would the wife remember that it was an acquaintance "yesterday", and the next day, not remember who he was? Could she have been silenced?

5. Washington Post and Huffington Post

He declined to discuss the specifics of the case with The Associated Press over the last two days on advice of his lawyer, except to say that police had shown an “unhealthy interest in me” and that he had hired an attorney to defend against possible criminal charges. The lawyer, Aitan Goelman, declined comment Thursday.
 Quoting:

"On the advice of his LAWYER? Or did somebody SILENCE him? Was the lawyer silenced too?

6. ONLY in the DailyMail: (The AMERICAN sources don't have this)

What police do know is that on the afternoon of Thursday April 5, Mrs Guggenheim had been texting Anna Pavlichenko, 25, her daughter from a previous relationship, who now lives in Florida.

While messaging back and forth, they decided to speak later that night. But Miss Pavlichenko's calls went unanswered.

Miss Pavlichenko then alerted her mother's husband of 18 years the following day while he was in Philadelphia, and he became concerned as well.

The 53-year-old says he arrived to their second-floor apartment Kalorama neighbourhood - and found the door dead-bolted - on the morning of Saturday April 7.
 Quoting:

Had she not been texting to her daughter that day and making that appointment, the daughter woudln't have gotten upset and alerted her step-father, and had she not alerted her step-father, he wouldn't have gone home early from his business trip in Philadelphia. Had he not gone home early, she would have been dead by the time he did come home. Is that the way this plays out?

7. ONLY in the DailyMail: (The AMERICAN sources don't have this)

One of the few certain facts is that Mr Guggenheim called police after the discovery of his wife lying on the floor beside their bed, wearing only a blouse and surrounded by blood and with a black eye.

Mrs Guggenheim, who met her husband in her home country of the Soviet Union in 1991, was treated for a subdural hemotoma from the attack and is recovering from brain surgery.
 Quoting:

8. Washington Post and Huffington Post

He said police started focusing on him as a possible suspect even though he says he had proof that he was not in Washington at the time.
 Quoting:

=================================================

9. ONLY in the DailyMail: (The AMERICAN sources don't have this)

The apparent claim led police to consider Mr Guggenheim, who claims he returned home from Philadelphia to find her bloodied and twitching hurt but nothing stolen, as the only suspect.
 Quoting:

Who knew that he would be gone on that business trip in Philadelphia?

10. Washington Post and Huffington Post

The couple has recently been experiencing financial difficulties, with bankruptcy filings showing them listing more than $400,000 in liabilities.
 Quoting:

Ummmm. Could this be a possible motive for framing him for the crime--had she only died as she was supposed to?

And why did she call the intruder "an acquaintance"? Why not call him "a friend"? If he were someone that SHE knew, would he be called "a friend"? But if it's someone that her husband worked with, wouldn't she call him "an acquaintance"? Could it be that he was a business associate of her husband's -- which is why she trusted him enough to let him in, even though her husband was out of town? Then doesn't that play out so he beats her and leaves her for dead, and the police find "no forcible method of entry" and thus pin it on her husband?

Why is it that the DailyMail shows it from an unbiased point of view, showing ALL of the facts, INCLUDING those that could get the man exonerated, yet the Huffington Post and the Washington Post, which are both worded identically the same because they are both printing the same news from the government controlled AP (Associated Press), are only printing just enough to make you think that HE did it? Are they trying to frame him for his wife's possible murder?

Wait a minute!!! Does this sound like a movie script?

Watch this movie and tell me if you see any similarities. [link to www.imdb.com]

Video from 12/23/2011 "Ocean Check-up" Guggenheim discussing the issues concerning the worlds Oceans.

Will post an analysis upon completion.

LONG VIDEO WARNING
Interview starts at 7:11

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12331832

"Guggenheim, who posted his account on a blog last week, said two police detectives met him at the hospital April 19 and told him that he could not visit his wife until they received a statement from her. Guggenheim sued D.C. police May 7, saying they had barred visitors from seeing his wife in the hospital when she needed her family most. His wife has had surgery to remove blood and other fluids from her brain and to implant a tracheotomy tube and a feeding tube. She has a breathing tube and hasn't been able to speak."

The part that I find fishy is that YOU call it a "murder case", and then when I opened the articles, I found that there was no murder.

I also find it fishy that there is a link to a YouTube video, but when you click the play button, it says, "This video has been removed by the user". Why would they link to that?

"If by the liberty of the press were understood merely the liberty of discussing the propriety of public measures and political opinions, let us have as much of it as you please: But if it means the liberty of affronting, calumniating and defaming one another, I, for my part, own myself willing to part with my share of it, whenever our legislators shall please so to alter the law and shall chearfully consent to exchange my liberty of abusing others for the privilege of not being abused myself."

Hey now, calm down. Only making light of something serious. I understand the magnitude. No one said anything offensive towards any party, only made word play. Lighten up. Being serious isn't gonna change that fact that it happen.

I wish nothing but the best for David and his family. I love what the man has done.

Now get your panties out of a bunch, we got more serious matters to attend to.
