EARTHQUAKE WATCH for May 27-28-29 due to asteroid
Asteroid 2005 KA has a history of earthquakes within a day of it's last 4 close approaches to earth:

05/13/05 -- 0.0111 AU -- Magnitude 6.8 NIAS REGION, INDONESIA May 14, 2005
04/16/08 -- 0.4233 AU -- Magnitude 6.6 ALEUTIAN IS., ALASKA April 16, 2008
10/06/08 -- 0.3188 AU -- Magnitude 6.7 KYRGYZSTAN October 05, 2008
12/15/11 -- 0.3043 AU -- Magnitude 7.1 PAPUA NEW GUINEA December 14, 2011
05/28/12 -- 0.3410 AU -- Magnitude 6.6+ ???

2005 KA [link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov]

I'll be watching for a 6.6+ earthquake on May 27-28-29 due to this consistent quake history. Adding a little to the mix, May 28 also has a higher than average number of asteroids making close approaches on that day, currently total of 5. Thread: AMAZING new discovery... earthquakes influenced by asteroids!

Asteroid 2012 KP24 is one of those 5 NEOs at 0.00038 AU (!) but has no quake related history.

Re: EARTHQUAKE WATCH for May 27-28-29 due to asteroid
cool. nice find.

there does seem to be a correlation to certain asteroid fly-by's and significant earthquakes.

simple physics suggests gravity from one body has to have some effect on another.

perhaps japan/cali this time?? just what we need with the fukushima situation.

i also am a little worried about a possible caribbean event. maybe virgin islands...but that's mainly b/c i live in florida :-).

Possible cause would probably be more toward "electric universe" than gravity, including solar activity.

How do you think something so little and so far away affects the Earth ? I'd like a synopsis on how you have come to that conclusion through research please.
Don't throw links at me, I won't click them.

Also in your quest to gain recognition as a prophet you would do well trying to predict a significant earthquake, not a size that has a high % of happening.

The last 6.6+ quake we had was a month ago. I just find precursors for a quake and post so they could be followed here and discussed.

I know others who predict 5.0+ to 6.0+ quakes within windows but odds are too great by chance to be meaningful, except if they can determine accurate location.

Odds of an earthquake within a 3 day window:

43% = On USGS Significant quake list = Recent study 209 quake dates/493 days
43% = Magnitude 6.3 or greater = 1 within 7 days x 3 / 7 days
21% = Magnitude 6.8 or greater = 1 within 14 days x 3 / 14 days
10% = Magnitude 7.1 or greater = 1 within 30 days x 3 / 30 days

Info above on odds from:
Thread: Big EARTHQUAKE to hit today? What are the odds?

If I get solid signals for a date that point to a real big one I will point it out. Currently focused on DATES with high likelihood of a "significant quake" and have no good method for location.

With an average of 134 6-6.9 magnitudes happening every year the odds are one could happen every 2.74 days.
Not much of a prediction.
Not to mention there is no relationship between that and an asteroid that can no way affect the Earth unless it actually hits us.

Uncertain of the cause, looking more at the effect. Cause likely related to "electric universe" theory and solar interactivity when NEOs close in.

Below info from: Thread: Big EARTHQUAKE to hit today? What are the odds?

1) NEO Count: I have determined that the more near earth objects making a close approach to Earth on any given date then there is a higher likelihood of a quake... [Last few windows using this were: within one day of May 19 and May 25. Next best ones are within a day of June 25, June 15, June 7 in order of best indicators.]

2) NEO History: When an asteroid has a consistent recent history of earthquakes within a day of past close approach dates then there is a higher likelihood of a quake... Over past few months I identified and posted 6 potential quake dates based on NEO history and 4 had significant quakes within a day = 67% [Now at 5 out of 7 = 71%]

With this new quake, there were 19 dates this year with quakes 6.6 or more. So over 147 days the chance is 13% for any date, and 39% pure chance for a 3 day window.

You are right, quakes below 6.5 get close to a coin flip so my forecasts are for 6.6+, usually 6.8+ if data is stronger.

You can research my earthquakes threads and see evidence that total asteroid count for a day does influence earthquakes, and evidence is building for NEO history too. The "why" debate is still open.

It is funny to me when I see a post that says "asteroids can not affect the earth" or any of the many variations I have seen of that. Fact is... you do not know if it can or not...no one does. Earthquakes may be a random event caused by sudden giving way of built up pressure, but hmmm wonder what events could cause the breaking point of that built up pressure.

Instead of the thinking (and nay saying) about small rocks pulling the big earth being impossible... try to fit the 'idea' that it can have any affect at all into what we already know about the science.

Personally... I think it is all magnetically related. It would not take much of a pull on the magnetic field (electrical current) to cause pressure changes on the ground. I have been curious about a CME/earthquake connections also.

One theory is an object whizzing through space can build up a charge and discharge like a capacitor when approach other bodies. ISS is orbiting Earth which is different, but who knows how that orbit might effect things. Also, I have see the sun blast CMEs toward close approaching comets... and makes me wonder how often CMEs are directed toward NEOs. Just rambling ideas here.
