OK, I've come back many pages later and I see (other than a plea from the OP to allow HER the courtesy of speaking with the guy before anyone else does) that there are many intelligent people who have given her very good suggestions.

These include practical and matters of safety, as well.

I think you all should be commended for attempting to help her but something tells me this is a girl who's a bit of a drama queen.

In a final attempt to solve this mystery (in part as a thank you to some who have spent countless hours trying to help her) I would suggest the following:


1. The office of any cemetery is only a phone call away if you're too busy to actually drive out there. They are normally open weekdays from 9-5 pm. They ARE a business, after all. And although there are many items a caretaker cannot reveal due to confidentiality laws in his profession I'm sure he can answer enough to get you started- such as when the tomb was put in place, and perhaps what company was used to create the monument. There's another lead.

2. The mother's obituary listed much information including the funeral home who catered to her death. Most families generally use the same place.

If not, the other funeral homes near that area who are holding funerals in that cemetery weekly have no doubt seen this thing and would be more inclined to offer info that the caretaker can not.

I know this for a fact because I have a friend who works at a funeral home and though he is professional, competent and compassionate while working, if I were to ask him if he knew anything about that crypt I imagine he would chuckle, perhaps ask that this subject remain between he and I and tell me the story behind it and the man who bought it because he is NOT bound by the same confidentiality clause that the companies hired by the individual.

People who work at funeral homes are normally a group of good men who know all about the stories around such a grave, know the scoop on everything that goes around in that industry, and have learned to deal with the issues of death in a rather humorous manner when off the clock.

Go to the place your boyfriend used and inquire about the tomb, telling them it makes you uncomfortable when you visit your boyfriend and ask what they know about it. You're going to be surprised.

3. In this day and age for a young woman to go visit a man she knows nothing about is just plain crazy. I'm sorry to have to say this but I believe your emotions have taken over your common sense in this area and many tragic things could take place under such a circumstance.

4. I googled him on Facebook and although he wasn't listed (half the country is, it seems) there is a group of people who live in Wheaton, Illinois that post on their page.

SURELY, one of them knows who to call to get more information.

Birth and death records are public knowledge. For $10 or less you can get a copy from the county Wheaton is in ( I thought I found where it is called Depage County or something that starts with the letter "D"). If you were to visit in person I imagine the clerk would even have heard of the tomb.

Depending on how serious you are you can normally run a background check with the info you have thus far received for under $50.

Zillow search engines provide much information regarding houses of people, again- public record and I know for a fact we have a couple of addresses already. The appearance of his home will generally reflect the character of the owner. Drive by one day.

I am sorry to sound harsh but this thing has gone on for pages with the OP only popping back a couple of times. I feel certain I am missing out on many other people who can be contacted to settle this matter.

To recap:

First, go to the cemetery caretaker and find out when the tomb was put up (probably fairly recently if it's next to your boyfriend who died suddenly at such a young age. Plots aren't usually thought about until midlife and especially not pre-purchased during an economy like this.

The caretaker will know and be able to refer you to the company who built the tomb.

Second, go to that place, tell them you are interested in purchasing a similar tomb and start asking questions. Trust me, they will see dollar signs and cooperate.

Third, do NOT go visit this man. He could be brilliant. But so are most serial killers, etc. You could be trapped with him in an apartment somewhere for months with him using parts of you to finish his work-in-progress. I'm serious. What if he insists that part of your blood be transfused into him or something bizarre. I'm sure you've read worse, lately.

I'm sure to get yelled at but I feel the OP has an obligation to wrap this up. I contributed little but in reading some of these posts to help her I can almost envision people cranking out their dusty old physiology books from college.

A couple have even volunteered to drive a couple hundred miles to help.

I can understand the intrigue but at this point I believe the OP needs to thank everyone of you for your hard work, wrap this thing up and post what she found.

In my opinion it's the least she could do for all of you have spent hours and DAYS to help her.

Sorry to sound so bitchy, but snap out of it OP. Use your head and my suggestions and post your findings here.

And do NOT contact this man by yourself under ANY circumstances. Do NOT go with him in his car to visit this grave if he suggests. Do not think you're being safe to follow him in your own car. People are rarely around cemeteries except for the two major holidays. And he might take you elsewhere instead.

It's quite obvious that the message with this imagery is a cryptic one. Only the owner of the tomb will know the full and complete message as it was meant to be communicated... OP is working on speaking with him... Don't be so discouraged about not having the 'closure' you were looking for by reading through the thread. : )
