Seriously though it sounds like your city is in need of funds... when local cops start writing tickets for petty stuff that's usually the case.

We're fairly new in a town of less than 8000 so it must be a cash flow issue. Or maybe we pissed someone off, I don't know. The crazy thing is we're on an old road where the sidewalk is only right around our house. People have to walk in the road until they get to our house, then they can walk on our sidewalk and when they get to the end of our property they have to walk in the road again. Ridiculous.

I'd tell that to the judge.Tell him you understand the importance of not blocking sidewalks but in your situation the sidewalk makes no sense. Maybe he will drop it.

Don't get caught up in hate and idle threats. The cop picked on you because he's been pressured by the city. He sees you as an anonymous person and himself as just doing his job. Show up at his house, let him know who you are and that you know exactly who he is and where he lives and he'll see you as a person. Once he sees you as a person he'll stop attacking you.

If the amount of the ticket makes it worth going to court over I'll definitely explain the situation to the judge. The kicker is that our car was only parked like that because a neighborhood boy had just washed our car for us and it was just drying. We were giving the kid a way to earn some money, trying to do a nice thing.

I didn't mean it like that. People can walk on our property all they want and can walk on the sidewalk too. I just meant that it's a ridiculous situation given the way the sidewalk is around our house.

It wont matter its the law you aren't allowed to park cars across the path its written in law even here ive heard of people getting a ticket for it.
