Anyone else drink a bottle of wine per day?

One time I got caught because someone smelled it in the stands next to me, I guess, but the rent-a-cop just told me to toss it in the trash :(

I love to run, I have been doing it lately and it feels so good.

I run through the woods, with the big mountains and birds it is relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.

you can do the exercise thing. get on it. it'll make your kids exercise too. kids have a bad habit of copying what their parents do remember.

you'll be OK. at least you know you have a problem. it's only a small one at the moment. a bottle of wine a day is bad, but by no means the worst it could be.

go swimming with the kids 3 times a week. go kick a football on a playing field with them a couple of times a week too.

It's funny the looks a woman gets walking through the store with a bottle of wine. Or the liquor store, thats the worst! All these guys salivating at the thought of a drunk, lonely woman.

I feel like a loser when I am buying it, but the looks on guys' face is amusing.

OP - talk to your doctor for a professional opinion. Excessive alcohol can raise blood pressure, so check it. Personnally, I don't think it excessive, but I am no doctor...

Thanks. I live near some awesome parks. I really am blessed that way. I love so much to just go sit there and watch people while my kids play but maybe I should get us a soccer ball and have us all kicking it around (we like soccer, screw football haha).

I don't have a doc. Been without insurance for like 3 yrs. My blood pressure has always been low, and people think that is so great but actually it can be a sign of stressed adrenal glands.

I am 38 and really very healthy, I don't want to compromise that but sometimes I wonder what is worse, the wine or the stress I feel when I don't drink it, kwim?

My wife drinks a bottle of white wine every night and I drink around 6 cans of lager around 4.5% alcohol. This as been a steady climb over 35 years. We both had our liver tested for our 50th check up and the results and blood count where perfect. If I have anything to add, you can easily spend £200-£300 a month on this habit.

Your going down a slippery slip. What if there is an emergency, whose going to drive, or what if your passed out. Your kids don't need mommy drunk. You have alcoholism in your family and you seem to drink alcoholiclly. I've been there, if I drink, I drink until I pass out, so no more for me. But I use to drink a bottle of wine a night no problem. I hope your okay and can keep to your 1 bottle with no consequences.

Also, I think a HUGE part of my drinking is just plain old BOREDOM. I live for adventure. My life is very stagnant right now and there is nothing I can do about it. I think I am freaking out because I finally have to settle in somewhere and live the standard banal life most people do. I can't get excited about anything anymore. I wish I could find a passion besides wine!

I believe you. My mom drank so much and her liver tests always came back normal. Her brain, not so much. I had tests done like 5 months ago when I was in a foreign country and I was soo perfectly healthy I was like WTF? Because I drank then too, just not quite this much.

Yes, you can spend tons on booze. I spend about $100-150 a month, factoring in when I go out with friends for happy hour. That could be a weekend at a hotel with my kids somewhere, which would be priceless for us all right now, living with my parents, one of whom has Alzheimers.

Hahaha, sometimes you do what you have to to survive...nothing wrong with putting off a hangover until you can better handle it...

I'm not a moran. I'm also a woman and would like not to be called a moran. Weed, well what can I say. I love it when I am on vacation and especially taking scenic drives with cool music (being the passenger). I love it at night in my home to take a small toke and watch something cool. I found that I can only smoke once or twice every few weeks or I start to be negatively affected by it. Plus, I immediately crave beer when I smoke it. Like I must have it. One or two anyway. Plus my cravings are horrendous. Going from the veggie lover I am to suddenly needing a chocolate lava cake with ice cream, obsessing over it the entire time I am high. Not fun!

I know, you feel great afterwards and you tell people who don't exercise and they dont beleive you?

Yep, us Irish have something in our blood. Plus I'm a good part Italian. It seems I got some bad blood for drinking and being a rebel. I agree though, exercise seems to do something. I will force myself to do it. Baby steps. Next thing I know I will be wanting to do it. Maybe. Hopefully!

When I go out with friends, they order sodas and sickeningly sweet drinks and I order wine, and I know my wine is a lot healthier than their sodas.

I may drink a lot of wine but I don't touch sugary drinks at all. Maybe that is why I drink and don't gain weight. I am finishing up my wine right now and ready to take my kids to the park. I will enjoy it so much more now.

Even Bob Marley said the only booze that anyone should ever touch is a bit'o red wine. So I feel a little better. I am a HUGE BM fan. I just don't feel that weed is as harmless as some people think. I don't know. I had a crazy pothead uncle who killed himself when he was 40 and ever since then I just don't think it's some "miracle herb".

You are the classic alcoholic. Realizing this is half the battle and all that... You know the drill. Onto the stuff you probably don't know.

Quit slowly, it's easier that way. Statistics have shown, that you are three times as likely to successfully get off alcohol, if you administer low doses during withdrawals. I took this data, and applied the following along with some other knowledge and what I felt was right:

First of all, get off the wine, and onto some 3.75%~ alcohol beer. It will keep your blood alcohol level low, and draw out your drinking time. This is good because it gives your liver more time to handle the alcohol, and it gives your body more time to say 'hey, I don't feel like alcohol anymore, I'm full', it also hydrates a bit more, and lessens the withdrawal and hangover symptoms. Perhaps the most important thing, is, it keeps your mental faculties in ok condition... Enough to focus. Focus is very important. The beer also has hops in it, which numb cravings, and further weaken withdrawals and hangovers, as they act in a similar action to alcohol on the brain, but stay in your body a bit longer.

Okay, getting off track. So, you are on the 3.75% beer. Good. Now, go buy yourself a 6 pack. Instead of a bottle of wine, drink that 6 pack to your leisure over the course of an evening. If you like to hide your drinking, I suggest finding a spot to retreat every once in awhile to take care of business. The bedroom is a good place.

So, you have been doing this for 10 days. Good. Your body is now adjusted to a lower BAC. Now, rinse, repeat, this time though, before you start your drinking session... Dump a bottle out. That's 5 beers a night now for 10 days.

10 days... Dump two bottles. 4 beers a night, 10 days.

Drinking is definitely harmful and addicting. If you need something try Marijuana. Better yet read or listen to Eckahart Tolle. I believe the concepts he talks about can help. They have made a difference for me, but I have to keep working on it every time I don't feel great, but it is beginning to be less and less. I can now stay in that present state more and more. It is wonderful. You don't want to be unable to quit drinking without being very sick with withdraws. Don't justify to your self. Why will you quit later and not now? Why wait? I wish you well!

Yep, I do. Definitely makes for more attentive/relaxed parenting. Wifey dont like it though lol.
