The verse in question does not say that he makes or signs a new treaty/covenant as christians have been taught to believe, if that were so Daniel would have used the Hebrew word Karath not Gawbar, to make or cut as in a new Covenant Jer 31:33

The text says that he will strengthen a covenant that already exist with many, and that strenghtening begins the final week of this age.
