Culpeper officer indicted

An 11-member special investigative jury handed down four indictments including murder against the Culpeper Town Police officer who shot and killed an unarmed 54-year-old woman in February, nearly four months ago in downtown Culpeper.

Fauquier County Commonwealth’s Attorney James Fisher, special prosecutor in this case, made the announcement Tuesday evening at the Virginia State Police Culpeper Division 2 Headquarters.

Daniel Wayne Harmon-Wright, formerly Daniel Wayne Sullivan, of Gainesville faces murder, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle resulting in a death and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the shooting death of Patricia Ann Cook on Feb. 9 on North East Street.
