Wrong. You get plenty of chances.

Agreed.

The vast majority of people who NDE'd with no faith or a faith other than that of Jesus ALL saw the exact same things.

Easy now, friend. I would like to keep this as low key on the religious front as possible. I agree with you, but please tone it down, if you would be so kind.

I "should have died" a few times. The scariest.. i fell asleep driving. I woke up to a horn blaring and a suv heading right at me, i drifted into on coming traffic on a highway. I blacked out. Next thing i know im pulled over on the side of the road (the correct side), and the suv that i nearly collided with was right behind me. We got out of our cars, and just gave each other a hug. Neither of us knew what happened. Something you said OP just reminded me of it.
Even at the last moment when the car was going to smash head long into me, i still really didnt believe "this is where i die".

Re: Your Body is Just an Interface
THE PROJECTION ARGUMENT

The soul is a manifestation of a physical body. Therefore, when people almost die, the manifestation can wonder about, still being produced by the disabled, but still alive body.

Upon returning to consciousness, they have memories of wondering about.

This does not rule out the possibility that when a person dies and is not resuscitated, that this projection, deteriorates with the body.

So while astral projection is cool. It does not prove the existence of an afterlife.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16083263

+1

People who've had NDE's and OBE's, it does not prove the existence of an afterlife, infact it just creates more questions than it answers. The denial by those people of this point just proves it creates another set of believers.. amazing how manipulative emotion can be.

Watch the show, Long Island Medium on TLC...Its on TV so I dont know how real that show is but I have witnessed the things that happen in that show in reality. Its simply amazing and uplifting.

These body-suits are so limiting cool2
 Quoting: WeAreOne

In any type of game, the respective set of rules limits but also enables the game. Without the rules there would be no game, only indistinctiveness, chaos.

So, what you call "limitation" is in fact the rules of the game. When you are ready, you don't play the same game anymore, you evolve into a new, higher game. You go beyond the rules when you go beyond the game.

You need to climb the ladder. You can call the steps "limitations", if you want, but that does not correctly describe their real, full nature and function.

This is another reason why I know for a fact that the soul/spirit doesn't die with the body. I have very, very strong personal experience in this area, also.

To add to my own experiences, there's interaction with long deceased people.

Additionally, there's reams upon reams of evidence of reincarnation.

Put all together, it would be impossible for me to deny an afterlife.

I like the list someone posted of what people experience after Death Experiences. I fit all of them, except for the ones about relationship changes and career changes (since I didn't have either at the time, lol).

Re: Your Body is Just an Interface
I have been confronted by people lately on this forum who keep telling me that "it is a fact" that you either dissipate (one guy's word) or simply cease to exist after you die.

When I was young, I died several times and was resuscitated. I will speak of one specific incident, because it speaks most to this erroneous "fact" of what happens after our body dies.

While I was clinically dead; this meaning no activity of any kind within my body, and no brain activity at all; I followed my foster family down a hallway, through a set of double doors, and around a corner. There, I listened to them argue with the nurse and doctor.

When I CHOSE to go back and re-integrate with my body, I told them about the conversation. It took place nowhere near my body. I could not have overheard it with my physical ears.

This is because the human body is an INTERFACE with this world.

Your awareness does not cease when your brain activity ceases. You cannot interact with the world without it, but you do NOT dissipate and you do NOT lose all awareness... you do not lose self awareness, you do not lose awareness of or interest in your loved ones... just because your avatar/interface has ceased to function.

So there you have it, a statement based upon experience of body death, not upon assumption.
 Quoting: Sandi_T

I was thinking about this the other day and likend it to a incubator that babies are in when in intensive care, our bodies represent the gloves the doctors put their hands into to touch the babies without actually touching them directly. We need these bodies to interact in this enviroment but these gloves are not all we are.

I wasn't clinically dead, just under general anesthetic, once in hospital for a routine op, the other some years later at the dentist to get a tooth pulled, both as a kid.
First time as a small child.. I assumed it was natural.. till I mentioned it to the ward sister recalling what she & everyone else was doing while I was away in theatre. She was somewhat alarmed at how accurate I was & told the Surgeon who noted it down, as I'd also described where people were standing & what they were doing. Second time was just hovering over the road outside the dentist.
But, yeah.. there is a 'separate' you! I allowed myself to get rather hot n bothered lately, but have learned how to subdue one self by taking some deep breaths while concentrating on each breath in great detail, which has the effect of raising my awareness above what my mind is actually thinking. I don't have an OBE, but it's like 'An Out of Brain or mind,' experience, where I can actually 'sense' myself with these torrents & spirals of thoughts & emotions. I discover I'm feeling fed up, angry, frustrated, having 'out of character' thoughts about one self or others.. then am able to 'stop it!' it immediately. Take control of the mind.. like take control of a wild horse. We need to learn how to supervise our our minds, tame them! be aware of one is thinking at any one time. Standing still, closing the eyes & concentrating on each single breath.. visually 'imagining' rising above the brain, so am looking down at it.. but the outside of the brain is 'bathed' in this soft light with no apparent source. Look down at my brain.. & see 'WTF..!!!' jeez.. allright.. Time Out! calm down brain.. calm down brain..! just.. chill.. & stop...
It calms the emotions for a while.. but it's very hard to sustain.. as it's like falling asleep unexpected.. to find one not consciously aware anymore.. but back in the spiders web matrix of the material driven mind of chaos & fears, but is 'full-filling' when one snaps out of it again. Cool.

I've discovered that there are 'indeed' other non-physical life-forms out-in there? I dunno.. but they're there.. not visual or audio.. but just a 'sense' that other consciousness are present, most being aloof, harmless, curious, lost.. but there are some 'mischievous & sly bad' entities.. I dunno what to call them.. it's not that they can 'make you do!' anything against your 'conscious' will, but 'suggest' doing crazy stuff.. like 'orrible little gremlins who get off on creating shit for others. But, I'd say people not 'in control' of either their minds or their own 'conscience' could.. be vulnerable to their suggestions believing those 'thoughts' to be of their own making. A bad bad.. mistake to make. This can be caused by severe trauma, with psychotic or powerful hallucinogenic chemicals drugs acting as a catalyst to temporary possession. Not that another 'entity' is in control but they're 'directing' it.
Just thought I'd mention that.. to be sure you 'Know Your Rights' as these little buggers cannot interfere.. we're better than them! Us humans are made up of composites, just like a composite video signal (luma, RY, BY, H, V etc).. as are we! There's the physical body, energy surround, but there's also this 'consciousness' energy which freely flows thru matter, but with limitations to prevent chaos.

It's quite 'possible?' .. that there isn't an all Judgmental God-Source or Judgmental group of 'gods/aliens, demons or angels' but rather.. in the end.. we 'Judge' ourselves. No matter 'what' we think is right & wrong.. the proof of the pudding is in the fact our 'consciousness' evolution prevents itself from spiritual growth by default. The 'levels' or thinning of matter up to a more conscious experience.. is 'automatically!! prevented to a 'life-force' which has 'personal' vibrational frequencies incompatible with what a 'heaven' deems acceptable by it's own set of laws of emotional band of frequencies. If a 'soul' or whatever it is.. has lower emotional frequencies representing a consciousness not in full control of its mind.. then it's a burden, a weight.. a 'mass' as you will.. literally anchoring down a soul & preventing ascension. Even though I know this now.. I still find it very difficult..! to sustain this state of awareness. It's so easy to open a bottle or can, thump a punchbag, lift weights, light another spliff to calm down or whatever.. but that only calms the brain-mind.. not the 'soul'. One thing I know.. 'never give up hope!'

Re: Your Body is Just an Interface
I read the most amazing words of my life the other day...

[link to www.truthcontest.com]

I have often wondered why we don't remember past lives but this resonated deeply with me...

We can be certain that we are not our minds, because if it was gone, we would still be here. We would still be aware of life, actually more aware of life, completely aware of it. The mind does not give us life; we give the mind life.

The mind’s job is done: The mind is like a sophisticated computer. Its function is to learn, remember, process, and understand life and the things in it. The ultimate thing for the mind to learn and understand is the nature of life itself, our true past, potential future, and the nature of nature. Once we know the ultimate truth, our mind’s ultimate job is done. Its reason for evolving is accomplished. Thus, the mind’s purpose is fulfilled. When the truth is known, it is finished.

No past life memory: We have no memories of past lives, because memories are biochemical parts of the brain, and our past memories die when our past physical mind/brain died.

The religious version says:

A spiritual being recognizes it, knows it is not real, that it is the mind and will pass. It is often experienced as a bright white light or floating around the room. It is a near death experience, not a death experience.

The death experience happens right after the near death experience. Your mind dies; all that is left is you and the collective unconscious mind. You are living life without your mind for the first time if you are not a spiritual being. If you are a spiritual being, you have lived without the mind before, and are at home with it.

A spiritual being is ready for anything that happens, because a spiritual being knows everything is God, no matter what happens, good or bad.
Be the change you want the World to be. Be someone that makes you happy.

Yes. Those adepts of the new religion of science and technology who drool about artificial "virtual reality" completely ignore that the world we live in is already a virtual reality. Why wear new gloves over gloves, glasses over glasses, sensors over sensors. That is a new, artificial labyrinth inside a labyrinth. We incur the risk of getting lost forever inside our own devices, with no real connection to Reality.

Yes. It is true. I died when I was 19 years of age. I drowned. (67 years old now!) I was with 3 others on a water skiing adventure in the Ohio river. We started skiing at 5PM after work, and it got dark on us. I was jumping the waves, riding on one ski, multiple tricks, and I hit the water wrong and was swallowed up by a current.
(i]My ski flew off and I went into a somersaultI had knocked all existing oxygen from the blast)
I rolled and rolled, deeper and deeper, the Ohio River is deep. Finally when I stopped rolling, I knew it would be impossible to reach the surface. I had no oxygen in my lungs. Something inside me pushed me up. A force was pushing me upwards, and I opened my eyes and saw a light. (remember it was dark). I surfaced and my friends were shocked that I was alive. I was under 6 minutes or more. They thought I drowned. My life changed after that. At 67 I look 50, I exercise like a 30 year old. My skin is beautiful, no wrinkles. My spirit is beautiful. I have the ability to do hands on for healing others and myself. There is an energy of light inside me that I finally accept. I thought I was thinking this way, it wasn't real..but it is. Acceptance was hard for me.

It's funny how fear of death can make life so very miserable, isn't it?

I'm so sorry for your loss. The greatest pain we experience is love not shared. When we mourn our lost loved ones, it is the loss of the ability to express our love for them, to share our love with them... that we mourn the most.

I'm happy that you can sense her. It eases to pain to know that you can continue to share love with her, even though she's not there to physically do so.

She will always be with you, because she is now even more pure love than she was before.

I was strangled and they tried to resuscitate me. The ambulance came and they managed to keep my heart beating by compression. At the hospital, I was declared dead and had neither brain waves nor heart beat.

I chose to go back to my body when the being who was with me told me, "It's time. Will you go back?"

I said, "yes" and went back.

I've been clinically dead several times throughout my life. The most recent was in 2004 when I was in ICU for a heart attack. Details aside, I too can attest to the same type of experiences as you detail above. While on this earth and in this so-called "container" each of us has an inside self that's all of our own consciousness and spirit. This part of us is what is eternal; it's the entire "stuff" of us and what we're made of here in the physical. Seen apart from our body this part of us appears as a dark human form of gray light, capable of carrying us forth into the multi-dimensional flow of life, or, as in my case, choosing to return to this physical body. We are here to experience a reconnection with the natural light of the universe sometimes called god or godsource for lack of a better word. The birth/life/death/rebirth of Jesus is our example. There's nothing religious about it other than it's where spiritual defines science and the natural is mistaken for miracles.

If I play Minecraft (or whatever, pick your game) on hardcore mode, and my character dies, I don't fall over dead and cease to be aware in real life...

Nor do we cease when the 'game' of Earth is over, either.

Death is game over for this interface, but not for your awareness!

I suggest you read this and you will find a key to unlock your internal frustrations.

The Promise of Rest

HEBREWS 4

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:

“So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest,’”

although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”

Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

May God bless you in abundance of rest!

If I play Minecraft (or whatever, pick your game) on hardcore mode, and my character dies, I don't fall over dead and cease to be aware in real life...

Nor do we cease when the 'game' of Earth is over, either.

Death is game over for this interface, but not for your awareness!

Yes, yes they are. And it is satisfying.

But they are not player characters.

Describe how you were 'clinically dead'.

That has absolutely and completely nothing at all to do with this thread. It's almost as if you just looked for a way to try to fit your propaganda into the thread somehow.

Don't do it again.

good way to put it for the young or dumb. Frankly, I'm on another board where most people wouldn't know what "interface" means. Sometimes it's hard to realize what people know or don't know. That's why Jesus taught in parables. I don't know if rolling one's eyes was common back then, but I'm sure he supressed a lot of it.

Yes, well the responses you've had are a natrual product of productive brainwashing accomplished by supposedly reductionist science.

The mind is contained in an electromagnetic field. The brain is merely a receiver. I tend to compare it to the automobile; yes a car can run but it can't drive without the person behind the wheel.

pay attention to the way they behave because it's not scripted...
