Questions to girls on GLP about guys who really like them
If a guy really likes you, and you know he's always thinking about you, does that make you happy, flattered, etc? Do you enjoy it? I'm not talking about a boyfriend, but just a guy.

For example, I had this bff, I don't like her like that, but for some reason she stopped talking to me, and I've tried to talk to her every once in a while, but I honestly believe that she gets off on it a little. Like seeing me try to say the right things in a nice way, etc. The focus on her, she's the center of my attempts, etc. And I've noticed that ego part in many other girls as I watched them interacting with guys.

Re: Questions to girls on GLP about guys who really like them
Before I used to read male/female threads on GLP and it was interesting to see how annoyed guys seemed to be with girls. And as I get older, I totally get it. I'm trying not to get angry with them, but I totally get it. Before if I watched Jeopardy or any other game show I would always root for the girls, but I'm now finding myself rooting for the guys.

If I like you it might be sweet, if a touch annoying. If I don't like you it's annoying and repulsive.

eh.
creepy.
especially creepy if you don't like them.
and they keep showing affection through clingy text messages.

if he's cute and sweet and you might like him, it's okay.
but STILLLLLL kinda creepy.

I had a negro gentleman tell me that he imagined having sex with me, (I'm white, don't mean to be "racist.") the same day that my boyfriend (serving in Afghanistan at the time) told me he loved me. I was on the phone with him (we'd been together before he left.)

and he proclaimed his love for me while the black guy that just told me he imagined having sex with me (he's a friend from class) was sitting in the passengers' seat.... (I was driving him home from class.)
yeah. that was REALLY ackwarddddd.

don't be creepy like that.

Also, reminds me of work. Some guy I guess looked up a number for the company, but got the number for a different location, and he was asking for one of my coworker, who he saw once and fell in love with. She's very hot. It was creepy and all, but I imagined that if this was a storyline in a soap opera, if the creepy guy that called was a beautiful looking kind of guy, the girl would be so flattered, but take that guy's brain and put him inside an ugly one, and it would be so creepy.

But I'm talking about my BFF, I would message her like twice a year, short two sentence messages. I'm not really trying to talk to her, but trying to get a sense to see if she's getting off on it. Because as a guy it's kind of weird that out of the blue she would just stop talking to me. The last we saw each other in person she was inviting to go on vacation with her. She did like me, so perhaps that has something to do with the not talking to me.

Re: Questions to girls on GLP about guys who really like them
if you treat a girl like a true friend you have noting to worry about. Its when guys get afraid of rejection the the problems start. They completely lose their natural born instincts to be the driving force in the friendship. Its simple communication; say what you mean and mean what you say, or stfu.

all 'relationships and/or friendships' need a foundation. if you can't be a good friend to a girl, don't bother at all with her. most girls can get the 'attention' of the opposite sex anytime by dressing up like ho's and hanging in the usual places, but most girls crave a true friend, they want to believe that there are guys out there that will listen to them and care about them as human beings, even if a romantic relationship never evolves.

I think that's why gay guys make great friends to girls... they are just real with girls, no pretense.

The reason why I would only message her twice a year is because she won't talk or acknowledge me. She stopped talking to me for no reason, so I'm not going to spam her, or send her a lot of messages that are going to get ignored. If not we would have talked everyday like before.

I guess perhaps it's not ego. But my disappointment in girls has become so strong. I am that type of guy that always listens, not focus on sex, but more so now with Facebook, and emailing being a big part of communication, you could always be there for the girl, but any little type of miscommunication, and that girl that a guy was really close with has absolutely no problem never talking to that guy ever again. So I'm seeing that being just friends with a girl is a complete waste of time.

She just doesn't know how to get you to get the hint.

What does she have to do to get you to understand she's trying to be courteous but feels like you're invasive, cut your hands off so you can't text? Block you?

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but a lot of women just really don't know how to cut ties... too worried about hurting the other person.

If she's nonresponsive, move on. It's that simple. That's woman for "hint: please leave me alone".

well only communicating 2x a year is like a long lost relative sending a Holiday card. That is not a friendship.

WRT Facebook, I find FB very troublesome in maintaining clear communication. So many times, people misinterpret what you write or post.

Even with email, the way you interpret the tone can be confusing. Some people have great senses of humor and some are very sensitive. I would suggest if you consider her a friend and she is nearby, ask her to meet you for lunch as friends. And call her up, don't text or email. Tone of voice is the next best indicator if you can't invite her to lunch in person.

I think the reason people get so weirded out by opposite sex friends is they don't know how to just be normal around each other. One person ultimately may like the other more so and I believe that's where it gets messy. Just take a deep breath and treat her with respect, the same way you would if it were one of your bro's.

Just tell her you think she is an awesome person and that you just want to spend more time together being friends, because you value her opinions and thoughts. Its really that simple. But here's the problem; be ready to hear that she doesn't have time or she is not interested. At that point, you forget her and move on, because yes, that would be a waste of your time if she can't meet for a one hour lunch.

I've lost a few friends on FB because of bad communication. I've often wondered why they didn't want to be friends, but as a female, I don't go asking why a male de-friends me, I just accept that he wanted nothing to do with me. If something is meant to be, it will be. People spend way too much time over-analyzing things like these instead of just living it.

and if she can't be cool like one of your bro's remember this:

investing quality time with people = quality friendships.

OMG, no! I for one would hate to know that I made someone feel any level of suffering. No, I only want people to feel my kindness when I am their friend and to know that I would always be someone they could count on as a friend.

hope this helps... not all girls are evil. I only want the best for my friends, especially the guys.

You don't quite get my questions, plus I haven't really given any real personal example other than an example of my BFF who I message twice a year. Plus that advice of ignoring and somehow have the guy get the hint is horrible compared to telling the guy.
