You don't as it is illegal for employers to do that but they do it all the time.

It's true, wait at least 6 months to one year to reapply to a company.

ive heard of it. there was one story in britain about it and a bunch of engineers who were union affliated were blacklisted from the companies in the industry they were qualified to work in.

just wondering how one can access that info if that is the case considering company privacy and all that...

here in the states - its more less if youve been unemployed longer than 3 months youre deemed - unemployable.

When you can't get a job despite applying and getting interviewed. Often they call and ask if you are willing
to work and when you say yes, they never call back.

Keep trying, their database may be screwed up.

You know most employers run a 'credit score check' with your SS# from your application...bad credit = no job! Makes perfect sense...NOT!

It's called a credit check......that is the blacklist. Many a person has struggled to find employment in today's credit-check mania. I know that the background check plays a part as well....but - ultimately, most people who have credit issues are singled out for non-employment.

It used to be that only certain fields required you to undergo a credit check, (fields like bank tellers and jewelry sales, etc.).

Now - you have to prove that you are credit-worthy before you are considered employable.

Just my observation.

Dollar General runs a credit check AND makes APPLICANT pay for a drug-screening test...FOR PART-TIME HELP!

but ive only ever gone through a criminal check and have read the privacy statements and its only specified that. no mention of credit. ive never worked in finance or insurance but imagine it would be the case to go thru a credit check too.

just thinking that there is a blacklist, i reckon its quite common amongst recruitment agencies.

dont know how big it is in your country but here in melbourne theres something like 800 recruitment agencies private and gov run for a population of 4 million.

keeping in mind that some companies on average use more than 3 agencies at one time to source slaves...i mean workers.

and another thing, recruitment consultants here in aus are the biggest wankers and lucilky ive only dealt with 3 of them in my working life.

they cant spell and they sell you bullshit until you meet the employer, like contract details and working conditions.

and i know a few who are in the game, alot of the ads they put out on jobs sites are bullshit and heres how one explained it.

- they put a fake ad out to source candidates

- out of the many they will call every single one and have a 'phone screening' interview.

- every candidate they talk to, they see their resume and ask them if theyve been to other interviews. some candidates are open to that question and tell them exactly where they have been and the agency they are dealing with.

- now with that information collected, they have info on what jobs are being sourced by that specific company (through the agency of course) and also on the resume where their current or recent place of employment.

- that info they will use to cold sell or market candidates (their top 20) to fill those vacancies from the other candidate info and resume.

so overall they just use all that to source new candidates who are marketable and more importantly to source new jobs and bump off the competition.

shonky fuckers, i put them up there with used car salesmen and real estate agents.

that is one industry that has been built on bullshit.

Yeah, that's what they do in the states too.

You know you are blacklisted when you send resumes they call you for an interview all seems to go well and they even give you their number for you to call them back in a couple of days only to get voice mails, and never again hear from them after you leave endless messages.
The same event happens at every job you go to and suddenly you get lots of spam mail with the subject words
"blackball", " blackie", etc, etc.
Take it from me I know first hand.
I have been blacklisted, filed official EEOC complaints visited lawyers and been told off the record "they can keep you off work forever".
This is the free country we live in.

don't know if anyone's thought of this. say, you have been a political activist (9/11 Truther for instance). google your name and see if anything comes up. I know more than one person in this situation who has had trouble finding work.

Be grateful if you are. Employment is a really crappy way to make money anyway.

ERMS here in Australia have most probably got a blacklist. I have a number of qualifications that should get me good employment in the marine and oil and gas industries but am getting nowhere. That is unless being 50 is deemed to old??

There is one thing to have questionable things online, but it's quite another if there is an actual "blackbook" of names...I have family in small business, and from knowing about their hiring process, there are only "red flags" to watch out for...no official markers like a no-fly list.

pretty convinced I am and therefore do not give a shit and stop applying for these places, they are fucking dumb stores anyways. But it also has to do with all the stuckup assholes around here lol. I'm learning to do my own thing, finding ways to make my own money. But these people think they are better than everyone who work at all the dumb malls and shit around where I live.

I remember when I was like 16-21 years old I couldn't get employed anywhere, even fast food joints refused to hire me.

I finally did get hired somewhere and they treat young people like shit, even if I worked hard and didn't bullshit around.

I haven't had a job since 2007 I been to interviews an such and they never call me back so I think am black listed

I have a math undergrad degree and an MBA in finance. I've been out of work for 6 months and I've been on many interviews where they were close to hiring me. One employer flew me to another state at their headquarters to meet with many in a round of interviews. I then was told I would be meeting with others in an office in my state days afterwards. I never got a call from the company as to why they didn't continue the process further. My credentials on paper draws much interest and I believe I carry myself well on interviews. I am experienced and have received recommendations from respected leaders in my industry. The only reason must be my appearance which is very ethnic looking and tends to be very different from the people hiring for the role. This is why I'm such a huge proponent of affirmative action. Why? Because of nepotism, favoritism, ageism and any belief or culture that is different than the applicant.

I have been experiencing this feeling for a little over 4 months now. Yes, I believe some companies will blacklist and give you bad references for any potential employers. I have experienced an interview where everything went well, I aced the math test, spoke well, my experience on all the type of machinery and rf units and forklifts matched up perfectly with what they were looking for. He took me on a tour of the place and said they would call me that following Monday to schedule a drug test and physical. Never heard anything back so I can only assume my former employer gave a bad reference. Of course, it could be other things, I've been wrong before. I did bathe and brush my teeth.

After the collapse of opes prime stockbroking in '08 I was told by several job agencies that nobody will hire me and that I was effectively blacklisted. Despite calling the directors out in front of everyone while I was there that what they were doing with anz was illegal. On top of that I helped slater & gordon win the class action against anz for the clients by giving them some silver bullets, free of charge of course

Got my way back in around 2010 anyhow, not that i wanted too
