Just found out that my male calico is a rare kitten to have....Wow...I got a special kitty!!
Quoting: Settle4It Why is that????  Because black and orange are both coded in the same spot on the X chromosome. Because females have two X chromosomes, they can have both black and oange, while a normal male cat, with an X and a Y chromosome, could only have one or the other. Male calicos are XXY - they have an extra chromosome.
